The Refuge Bar & Bistro is a go-to destination for residents and visitors in The Woodlands, TX area. Delectable menu options, creative décor and ingenious twists on classic drinks have helped this bar and bistro become one of the top social spots in town. Food was poorly presented and bland. There were 6 people total and after waiting 20 minutes for our second drink eventually found the waiter and told him to forget it. Water cup say empty forever. The wings were $12 for 3 anemic wings. The serving boards are cut up and likely have bacteria embedded in them. Will not return.

This place was nice once. We went there many times in 2022, and drinks were great and sophisticated. Came in 2023 to discover that all previous employees, who made the nice drinks and were highly professional, were somehow fired, and the new guys had no idea on how to make even mediocre drinks. The waiting time on drinks is about 20-30min now, the recipes are only God knows what, and the amount in your glass is at least 1/2 of what it was in 2022. If you are lucky, after 30min of waiting they don’t come to inform you that they are out of clean glasses, so you will have to wait for the dishwasher as well. We had to turn away two drinks because the amount was below half. The photo is of the just arrived drink. But prices are still same. In case you wondered.

If you are looking for yummy drinks and life music, this the spot to go-to! I recommend making a reservation though, given that the place is small. It has a cozy, intimate vibe to it! A bunch of great drink options! The only thing though, the food menu is a bit limited. They have some yummy flat breads! I highly recommend those.

This place is well named as it is a Refuge from the surrounding techno disco venues. Good food, great friendly service, outstanding music and an opportunity to dance is what attracts my wife and I to go there often. It never disappoints and is extra enjoyable when Yelba and her band play there.

I came here with my family for the premium apps and cocktails. That expectation was exceeded; the food was great and the cocktails were as well. One smaller thing led to losing a star. I and two of my other family members got the walnut old fashioned and we all had fruit flies in our drinks. The manager was exceptionally apologetic about it and made us new drinks from a new bottle of whiskey and they were great. The problem was addressed quickly and professionally. Good establishment.
