We arrived at our accommodation and came here for both a late lunch and later dinner. The venue is quiet mid afternoon, and we had salads, which were quite tasty. We later went back for dinner and it was a very different experience. It was very busy, and luckily we had a table reserved. There is live music too and it felt like a rowdy Aussie pub. This time we ordered burgers which were ok……they were delivered quickly but to be honest I felt like it was just a level above a fish’n’chip shop burger.
They seem to have a decent breakfast menu, but we didn’t get a chance to try this.
Overall, it’s a convenient location just up the road from the Sakka lifts, if you feel like a quick burger. I would prefer to go mid afternoon when it is quieter and you can have a drink and enjoy watching whatever sport is on the tv.
If you want a table for dinner, you definitely need to make a table reservation.

The Rabbit Hole is a burger (and sandwich) bar restaurant with a pool table downstairs. The burger, fries and drinks are pretty solid, but you will not be paying Japanese prices. You will be paying foreign tourist prices. There is a live singer and he was good. But that also means it was loud and hard to talk among a big crowd, so smaller crowds are better.

Over hyped burger joint selling average fare. Twice ordered the advertised spicy chicken burger and was twice disappointed. No spice of any note, just bland chicken.
Of our two visits, we were also seated at a bar looking into a hotel, I presume this was because we were a small group and the tables are set up for large groups only
However the service was good.

I’ve been to the Rabbit Hole twice now and it’s great vibes! Perfect to ski down from Sakka for lunch. They have a large menu from burgers to toasties. I’ve had the chicken pesto toastie and the el chapo burger and they’ve both been delicious. also, chu hais on tap!!

Love their burgers! Especially after a day of skiing/ snowboarding! And there is live music! Amazing vibe!
PS. I love the free shuttle if you stay at any of the HHG properties.

The food was good. Not overly amazing but really good, tasty food at reasonable prices. What we loved about this place was the live entertainment, lively atmosphere and really welcoming and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hakuba – especially Aussies!

The live music was great and the bathrooms were clean, but everything else was not worth it. You don’t get seated, you’re just pointed toward a table. We were shoehorned into a corner and did not really fit at the table. Also, the servers don’t do anything other than deliver food, you scan a QR code to order and pay immediately and then the food comes and is delivered without a word. This is fine for efficiency, but ruins the restaurant experience. ALSO, most disappointing aspect was that cocktails were not being served! We went to ask the bar about drinks and the bartenders were very unapproachable and honestly, quite rude. We decided to get beers, which we had to order from the QR code again, and a large beer translated to a shitty foamy pour in a plastic cup. This place would be fun if you wanted to feel like a frat party with halfway decent food and a large bill. I will never go back.

We had breakfast and a few dinners here during our stay at Hakuba Powder Mountain. The food, atmosphere, and staff were outstanding. Their sweatshirts are also top notch, highly recommended. Pub food, live music, drinks – all good.

Great live music and vibes, the food is awesome, I highly recommend the burgers and the dessert cookie is to die for, the pomegranate is a great touch! The staff are wonderful and despite the restaurant being busy they give great service always responding with a smile and positive anttitued and are proactive with taking away used dishes and making sure we are satisfied. They sell really comfortable, nice jumpers too. I absolutely love it there!

Live music is great.
I enjoyed the burger.
Bar staff are unfriendly and weird. In general the staff all seem pretty checked out and it was difficult to get a menu or even a clean place to sit. I asked the bartenders if they could move some of the dirty glasses left from past customers and wipe down the counter so I could have a good place to sit. Both bartenders acted like it was not their concern and seemed a bit miffed about it. “Are you happy now?” Sounds like a threat.
Is it not normal to clean seats between customers? I understand that they are busy and multitasking, though some verbal communication that they notice the situation and intend to get to the task could reassure me.
I asked the woman at the front of house to be reseated and really appreciate her flexibility.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant most winters since 2019. It’s disappointing to not feel welcome at a bar.
