Thank you for.a great Valentines Day!
Last night was our first visit to The President’s Pub , and while we had high hopes, the experience didn’t live up to expectations—aside from the amazing service we received from our waitress, Casey. She was attentive, kind, and really made us feel welcomed. Honestly, she was the best part of the evening.
We started with the stuffed crab mushrooms appetizer, which was absolutely delicious—flavorful and cooked perfectly. Things seemed promising at that point.
For our main courses, we ordered the Scottish salmon and a the delmonico steak. The salmon started off okay for the first few bites, but as I got to the center, it was raw—definitely not the medium cook I asked for. The rice and vegetables on the side, however, were solid. The steak was requested medium rare, but it came out fully cooked with no pink at all. The mashed potatoes were overwhelmed with thyme, which unfortunately overpowered the dish.
We appreciated that the kitchen timed the courses well, and we weren’t overwhelmed with everything at once.
As for drinks, we ordered an Aloha Breeze and a plain margarita. Both were a letdown—neither drink tasted balanced or enjoyable.
We dined outside, which was visually stunning. The waterfall, sunflowers, and tomato plants made for a beautiful setting. That said, it was bug city out there. Some citronella candles or bug control would go a long way. The outdoor seating could also use an upgrade—more comfortable chairs would make a big difference.
The final disappointment was the bill. With two drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees, we were shocked that the total came to $103.00. If the food and drinks had been exceptional, it would’ve been easier to justify. But for the quality we received, it felt overpriced.
The name “President’s Pub” gave us high expectations, but while Casey made us feel like VIPs, the food and drinks did not. We may or may not return again, but we’re grateful for the service and the atmosphere.
My wife, Theresa started with an Old Fashioned, and I had an Aloha Breeze; Big Springs Coconut Rum, coconut milk, a little lime, and a dash of honey. Yummy!
We had potato skins with brisket, Jalapeños, cheese, BBQ sauce as well as ranch. They were delicious.
Dinner included bacon/bourbon wings for Theresa, and I had a grilled chicken, bacon, brie, spinach, pear, pecan, red onion, tomato, dijonaise, minus the brioche bun. These were both fantastic! The prices were very reasonable.
Nothing but praise for this place. The staff was super friendly and it had a wonderful atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back.
