They closed the old location that was in Collinsville and moved it to Whitesboro, which those of us in this area are very excited about. It’s nice to finally have a sit-down restaurant with basic country style foods like chicken fried steak, meatloaf, breakfast items and other food that is not fast food. A nice selection of pies as well. The staff was extremely helpful and the prices are very reasonable. I hope they will open for dinner, especially on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday when all other restaurants by the lake are closed.

Specials daily and you can’t beat them. Good comfort food, priced right, and friendly service. I had the meatloaf special. Huge slice, that mount everest pile of homemade mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, homemade roll and dessert. $7.99 He enjoyed the chicken fry – 2 hearty steaks and sides.

My co worker and I stopped in today for lunch I had a Hamburger Steak lunch special and it was amazing. They serve you a full coarse meal. The staff is friendly, great atmosphere, tasty food, and great prices. Highly recommend Poor Boy Cafe. Thank you!

I had originally given this place a better review. However, I visited a few more times and am not impressed. This place needs a new manager. Highly disorganized. Many people complaining around me. I had reviewed Poor Boy well, but after a few more visits I’m dropping it to a 2. I ordered chili and it was around 70% water. The waitress admitted this was the case and pointed to the kitchen. It was canned chili with water poured into it. It was terrible dripping off the spoon. My family’s last visit was for breakfast and it took over 20 minutes to take our order, only after I stopped somebody to ask whether we were going to be served. The server apologized and thought we had already been taken care of. It then took another 45 minutes to get our eggs and pancakes which should not have taken more than 15 to 20 minutes. As I left the place, I could overhear staff complaining about how the customers are seating themselves even though they had removed the sign that said seat yourself, but there was no sign saying wait to be seated. This place will be gone in time and rightfully so.

Well it’s not what it used to be. Eggs on both plates were not cooked properly, biscuits are not as good and took forever to get our food. Was much better before the fire. Really good sausage tho.
