The only negative was that my chicken was cooked a little too long and was somewhat dry and a little burnt on the edges. But that’s pretty much it. The fish tacos were awesome along with our app which we shared.
My first trip to The Pour House.
The bartenders are knowledgeable and have smiles on their faces.
For lunch today, I had an Angry Orchard hard cider. Nice crisp apple taste.
Then I ordered the French Onion soup. It’s one of my favorites and taste that didn’t disappoint today. It’s the one item that any menu that I order.
I then had the Wagyu burger with French fries.
The French fries were well seasoned and crispy.
The Wagyu burger cooked medium had a good taste. The jalapeño aioli added a nice taste to the burger.
They have a few other items that are definitely worth a try.
They have a deck for the summer months.
So I will return soon.
The atmosphere is very loud everywhere in the restaurant. It was difficult to talk to our friends across the table.
Our visit was overall positive. Staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to take our order. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and Thai chicken tacos as well as two non-alcoholic beverages on this visit. Wait time was approximately 10 to 12 minutes for our food, which is on par with our expectations of a non-busy restaurant.
The Thai chicken tacos exceeded expectation and come with a high recommendation, however the cheeseburger left something to be desired. The burger itself was a very thick patty however it lacked any seasoning. This continues to be a sticking point in my burger reviews as an unseasoned patty, especially when the patty is thick, makes a burger taste bland.
Overall our experience at the poor house was positive. We will definitely be visiting again, the next time the hankering for Thai chicken tacos arises.
The French Onion Soup was fantastic.
The Old Fashioned I ordered was good, but it was diluted. Not sure why anyone would shake an old fashioned or add water.
Won’t be back, but not bad.
