Had dinner at The Perky, a barbecue pub spot, while we were in town. I ordered the brisket and a quarter pound of ribs, but unfortunately, both were pretty dry and didn’t have much flavor. The service itself was fine — the bartender was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The place has plenty of TVs, so it’s a solid spot if you’re there to catch a game, but the food didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Heard about this place from a family member and stopped by to sample the BBQ. As I approached the front door, the faint smell of smoked meat was an indicator of the tasty food to come. I tried the ribs, brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Mac-n-cheese and fries. The ribs didn’t survive long enough for pictures: the dry rub was phenomenal with a nice kick of pepper and the smoky flavor permeated the meat. Brisket tended more toward dry than wet but was smoky, tender and flavorful. The pulled pork was nicely seasoned and smoky. Mac-N Cheese was shells with great flavor and generous portion size and the fries were from fresh potatoes and full of flavor. Finally, their house BBQ sauce is tangy and tasty…reminds my of NC style but with its own twist. Service (for carryout) was prompt and courteous. Highly recommended!

Food is even better freshly served – and you have access to all four sauces. Stop in!

It’s a sort of place where you need to know it’s there in order to come across it. The barbecue is very good only a few minor complaints. I always ask for the brisket moist and they seem to never be able to fill that. The service is sometimes very quick and sometimes not so much. But the food is generally excellent. Some of the best baked beans you’re going to find. Absolutely give this place a try if you’re around you are not going to go wrong by eating here.

Ive been here a few times when Im in town for work. Food has always been great. Tonight not so much. 3 of use ordered ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket. Everything came out cold. My side were wrong and when our server brought me a replacement the food was still ice cold. Was told that is what we do here. The place was so loud we couldn’t even hear ourselves. All we got was a server being rude and saying thats how we do it here. None of us finished our food.

My buddies both got quesadillas, and they really liked them. I had the chicken cheesesteak. It was ok, not the style I’m used to and kinda heavy on the bbq rub. But I’m coming back after the next convention to try something else because the service was solid.

Shoutout to Lexi behind the bar at The Perky — absolutely top-tier service. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and on point with every drink. You can tell she genuinely cares about the vibe and the people she’s serving. Drinks were dialed in, fast, and she definitely brought the sauce all night. Made the whole experience better. If Lexi’s working, you’re in good hands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place is great overall However, I was a little bit disappointed when they said there was no brisket, kind of that’s why I came there. Also, when I asked for a glass of water Without Ice, the waiter still brought a glass full of ice.
Their beer is good, and the atmosphere is great too.

The Brisket Cheesesteak melts in your mouth. The Quesadilla was fresh as hell..soo good. The short bread was soft and flaky.. it’s basicly cake without icing.. The waitress Letisha was on point.

An interesting menu, I was considering the brisket sammie, brisket quesadilla, or ribs. Discussing it with the server, she said “The ribs are really good” She was 100% on target. The onion rings had a delicate breading, didn’t overpower the onions. The beans were good, flavorful and great texture. The ribs were the star of the show. Heavily smoked, tender and tasty. The server was ideal, attentive and personable.
