Pelican House was one of those dining experiences that really sticks with you. When we visited in early December we actually didn’t have a reservation and happened to arrive while they were still setting up for an event, before they were officially open for seated dining. Even with that, they graciously welcomed us in and took care of us — which immediately set the tone for how warm and accommodating the service would be.
From the moment we sat down, we felt right at home. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without being over the top.
We ordered the seafood platter and added oysters, and also got the oxtail. Let me just say… everything was amazing. The seafood platter was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and adding the oysters was definitely the right move. The oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, and seasoned so well that every bite made you want another. It even looked so good that the table next to us saw it come out and immediately decided they had to order it too.
They also made us a couple of their house drinks and they were delicious — smooth, flavorful and the perfect pairing with the meal.
What made the experience even better it’s a Black-owned business that clearly takes pride in both their food and their hospitality. Great food is one thing, but when you combine it with top-tier service and a welcoming atmosphere, it makes the whole experience special. They delivered on all of it, and we’ll absolutely be back.

The food here is delicious and the service is top notch!! We has the turkey necks as an appetizer, so tender and flavorful! As my main i had the catfish, it was seasoned perfectly. The vibe was very chill and we never wanted for anything because before we had a chance to ask they were already on it.

Omg this place took me on a journey to New Orleans… The food was delicious, cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. Our server was amazing he greeted us with a smile, was kind, prompt and had awesome recommendations…Hubby and I are already contemplating our next visit!!!

It was an amazing experience. Lou was outstanding. From the moment we entered the restaurant he catered to us exceptionally. The food was also very tasty and presentation was also exquisite! Keep doing ya Thang Pelican! Not only will be putting out the word but Will definitely be coming back! Thank you for treating us amazingly!!

Catfish platter was deliciously seasoned. I’m not a fan of fish chips but the they were crispy to perfection. The welcome was warm and inviting. The hostess and waiter were very pleasant. I recommend and will return. One thing the ranch needs more ranch dealings and less mayo tasting maybe add sour cream too. Thanks for jazz experience

Such a great experience from start to finish! Louis greeted us with a smile, explained the menu, and gave awesome recommendations while being super attentive as we dined. We ordered the oxtail, catfish, and Cajun egg rolls, and every single dish was delicious. The cabbage was so buttery and tender, it practically melted in my mouth. You could tell everything was made with care, from the seasoning to the presentation. Between the amazing food and the friendly, knowledgeable service, it felt like a truly special meal. I can’t wait to come back and try even more dishes—this spot is definitely one of my new favorites!

If you’re looking for a place that makes food like you’re back home in Louisiana, this is it! From the moment I walked in, i experienced genuine hospitality and cozy vibes. A true Cajun Gem! If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and GO NOW! Food is cooked to order! Definitely get what you pay for. Everyone was friendly! Got the stuffed shrimp and lamb chops for appetizers and the Seafood trio, Seafood platter and Fried Ribs for entrees! We enjoyed everything. Definitely will be back!

Authentic New Orleans food I ordered the catfish platter and the bowl of gumbo. The catfish was truly amazing. It was very fresh with authentic Cajun seasoning. Most of all you can tell they use fresh cooking oil. I’m someone who has a sensitive stomach, and I can tell that they put quality into their food and the presentation.
