I cannot recommend this bar enough! The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating (shout out to Elspeth for making me a delicious mocktail). The vibe is dark but lit – if you’re vaccinated and in Athens, this place is a must-visit!

With a rotating list of seasonal cocktails, this is a really great spot for some low-light cocktail drinking. The cocktails are made really well and there is some stuff you wont generally find at a run of the mill bar in town. There is no food but they offer some snacks. The prices are pretty unbeatable for what you get.

The drinks are great and the bartenders make sure to check that you like what they have prepared after serving it. They have many classics and also offer their own inventions. It is dimly lit and cozy.

Although there is one fantastic bartender (Shiraz) here that truly values customer service and making a great drink, the rest of the bartenders are mediocre and lack common service skills. They are not attentive and like to socialize with their friends instead of serving their customers. On top of that they use international music to culturally appropriate and look “cool”. “Jaan peechan ho” literally in our Hindi means what is your heart, what is your identity. Taking that music and trying to use that as their identity is not truly truthful for what this establishment is. This is a review coming from you minority colored person and the only colored person frequently in the room at Old Pal that truly wanted to love this place because of Shiraz but after multiple experiences excluding him cannot.
