We shared a bunch of starters (Brussel sprouts, whipped ricotta spread and duck tacos). Shared the brownie for dessert with some coffees. My sister-in-law and I travelled to Burlington for an appointment. So many different places to choose from in the area, and we ended up going with North Coal. 100% the best idea.
The hostess was lovely, friendly and did an amazing job answering our questions about the music, food, etc.
There was live music and the two gentlemen playing rocked! Loved their spin on some classic songs!
And the food…wow. I had the steak sandwich and sweet potato fries – everything was cooked to perfection and was absolutely amazing.
10/10 – would definitely recommend.

Food is amazing, I had the steak sandwich. Perfectly cooked steak. The waitress was amazing, very attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and warm inside like you’re in a log cabin. However walking into the men’s bathroom lost the star. The partitions are barely held on by bent L-brackets and the gap on the door was wide (see pic). The soap was out in the washroom which shouldn’t happen on an inspection. It seemed very out of character for the decor of the restaurant?

First night and first time ever in Canada, I walked to this place from my hotel for a bite to eat. Ended up staying almost till closing. Salmon entree was awesome. Steven the bartender was outstanding great guy and the whole place made me feel very welcomed. Will return and highly recommend.

Fantastic food and service. First time here and had an amazing experience. They even took great care of our pup on the patio. I unfortunately don’t remember the name but the waitress who took care of us today at 4:00pm on the patio was lovely and very helpful. Will definitely be returning.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I’m still smiling from the experience. From the moment I walked in, everything felt warm, welcoming and effortlessly amazing. The staff were beyond amazing, very attentive, entertaining, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can feel the effort & love in every detail. The food is perfect whether you’re planning a cozy date like I did, or just craving a great meal with friends, this place pretty much hits the mark. Every dish is really crafted to perfection and from my experience, the flavors were unforgettable. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality you get and I feel is truly worth every penny. I also can’t forget about the bar, as I’m still thinking about the passion fruit sangria I had (perfect balance of tangy, refreshing and sweet). If I lived closer, I’d be back just for that drink alone!! Overall, great service, atmosphere was top-notch, and the entire experience felt like a celebration. Don’t think twice, definitely go! You’ll leave with a full heart, happy belly, and a new favourite spot.

Come here most Fridays and share appetizers and drinks….my friend says they serve the best Caesars ever. Decided to try the full menu this week, steak frites, ribs and doughnut holes for dessert. Really tasty! Their fries are heavenly! Our server was so nice ( a good looking young fella with dark, curly hair ). The atmosphere is always so cosy! It’s definitely my top spot in downtown Burly. Top notch

First time visiting and we loved it. The menu was a good size for the restaurant and provided options for everyone. Menu items were also easily adjusted to accommodate food allergies and sensitivities.

My wife and I finally decided to visit The North Coal after hearing rave reviews from friends and noticing it numerous times while passing by. From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for a treat. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service we received from Ally was absolutely top-notch. She was attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience truly memorable.
The food was nothing short of outstanding. We started with the Korean Steak Bites, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we shared a full rack of ribs that were so tender they practically melted in our mouths. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we finished our meal with one of the best Chocolate Brownies we’ve ever had. It was the perfect ending to an exceptional meal.
The North Coal has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Burlington. If you’re looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!
