We are a locally owned and run Upscale American Cuisine Restaurant. We have a Pub in the rear of the premises offering refreshing adult cocktails and a variety of fine wines. We offer Finer Dining set in a breathtaking environment. We have a Wine Room, we will offer outdoor seating, as well as an outside Tiki Bar in the rear when the spring weather arrives. All of this nestled perfectly in the lower level of the City Hall Grand Hotel. A beautifully hand crafted boutique hotel in an over 125 year old building in downtown Williamsport.

We were presently surprised to find that The Newsroom is under new ownership. We were sat right away with little wait to order. The drinks were excellent! We don’t normally order a second round, but we couldn’t resist. So good! Our entrees were delicious as well. Both owners stopped to see how everything was with our meals. They were so friendly and happy that we were there. If we we were staying longer in Williamsport, we’d definitely be back!

I would never go back to this place. I love trying new restaurants, and working in one myself I know how an experience should go. There were a multitude of things that went wrong. For starters when we got there we were looked at by the staff like why are you here. After receiving our menus we saw that the cocktails were extremely expensive. Between 13-16 dollars for a martini is way to much especially when the server is wearing a tank top and Jean shorts. Next we ordered our meal and I asked if I could have a side Cesar salad with my meal. Keep in mind what should be on a Cesar salad. It came out with our $14 dollar glorified mozzarella sticks and it was a garden salad with sub lettuce, (lettuce that’s finely shredded into little tiny pieces) match stick carrots and cherry tomatoes with a side of dressing I’m not even sure was Cesar. When I questioned the server she said that’s what the side salads are and that if I wanted an actual Cesar I would have to order the full size one. The server kept going inside with her two friends and leaving us outside by ourselves while our waters were empty and my soda was as well. Finally after about 45 minutes of us being the only people there our food came out. There was no steak knife with the steak and mine was supposed to come with a house made garlic bread as it stated on the menu. When I asked the server she told me that it doesn’t come with garlic bread and I politely informed her that the menu said it does and she continued to say that she didn’t think it did but she would get it for me anyway. (I checked the menu again, it does say that it’s supposed to come with HOUSE MADE garlic bread) she disappeared for another five minutes and came back with the steak knife and a sesame seed hamburger bun with butter and garlic on it. For a meal that’s 28 dollars and steak that’s 40 I expect to not have to ask for a steak knife and not get told I’m going to receive house made garlic bread and have to argue with the server to get a hamburger bun. If you’re going to charge those kinds of prices you need to be able to walk the walk I put a photo of the garlic bread in the review too. Very disappointed.

I ordered the Beef short ribs & they were out. Then I order the meatloaf with mashed potatoes & they were out of mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was okay. It definitely will be a while when I decide to go back.

Atmosphere was great! Service was great. Appetizer was great. Soda tasted a little off. Ordered coke and it was almost rootbeer flavored. Main course was good but was coated with to much butter/oil. There was pools of it on both our plates. Got the pistachio salmon and the crab cakes. Expected better for the over $100 meal.

The fact that this restaurant just opened is amazing given the quality of the food and service! I had the pleasure of dining here recently and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! The bootlegger old fashioned was fantastic. The beef short ribs over whipped potatoes and brown gravy were crazy delicious! I’m bummed I don’t live in the area because this would be a place I would frequent constantly! Even got to meet the chef and manager. Great experience all around!

Every aspect of the dining experience was 100% on point. We were welcomed and very well taken care of from the minute we walked in to the minute we left . Everything from the drinks to the appetizers, the meal (Wagyu and Salmon was amazing) and dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly! Our new go to!!

Location is a nice remodel and has interesting architecture. The staff was rather new and learning but all nice and food correct. Timing of food delivery to table was off but excused. Food was well prepared and tasty but only warm when it arrived. I will go back to give another try.

Chicken Picatta and the pork belly bites were amazing!! Definitely will be back to try everything else on the menu, the wine selection is also really good! Food quality you usually find in the bigger city so glad to see it’s coming to Williamsport
