My husband and I had lunch here yesterday and we loved everything about our experience here! The atmosphere was everything! Jazz played as patrons sat enjoying their lunch surrounded by sumptuous, vintage decor. The host was patient, attentive, and kind. I had a Shirley temple and my husband had ice tea while we waited for our food. I ordered the All American burger and my husband order the skirt steak salad. Both were fresh and cooked to perfection. We had a lovely time and find the price fair when you consider the time and effort it takes to curate such an amazing atmosphere & fantastic fresh food. I mean even the bathroom was absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be coming back!

What a wonderful experience at The New Deal. I ordered the Mary’s crispy chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes, paired with a glass of wine, and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy, the sides were comforting and well prepared, and the wine selection complemented the meal beautifully.

The decor and overall vibe really stood out — stylish, welcoming, and relaxed without feeling pretentious. It’s the kind of place you immediately feel comfortable settling into.

Katrina took exceptional care of us during our visit. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely kind, making the experience feel special from start to finish. Her service alone would make me want to return.

A lovely spot with great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

Hands down, the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had is at The New Deal. Everything tastes incredibly fresh — crispy fried chicken with buffalo sauce on the sandwich, perfectly balanced with ranch, a soft bun, fresh tomatoes, and crisp onions. The flavors are next-level and consistently on point.

Located in the Magnolia Park neighborhood near Hollywood Way and Porto’s, The New Deal is perfect for lunch, dinner, drinks, or Sunday brunch. It’s been a personal favorite of mine since I live and work nearby. Katrina usually takes care of us when we visit — she’s friendly, attentive, and always provides excellent service.

Overall, I highly recommend The New Deal. It’s a true local favorite that deserves more attention.

Well you know the thing about Burbank is that you just can’t wrap it up in a bundle and think that you figured it all out. It’s the most wonderful little village, and it will always surprise you! There are so many unique, intelligent and creative people, and they’re not all just making animations and movies. Sometimes they also make restaurants and cafés and things like that. Because of that, a place like the ‘new deal’ will crop up. Even before you walk in, looking at the sign and the font style used, you know you’re in for a different kind of an experience. You walk in, and it’s again, one of those restaurants that transports you into a whole different place or a time. It really feels like a slice of FDR’s America from the 30s, almost 100 years ago. Yes, it can be a bit pricey, depending on what you order, but it’s worth it for the ambience. Also, you’re not exactly spending resort prices like at a Vegas hotel or something. It’s still approachable. We’ve been here a few times, and every time we say, “Oh we’ll just split a meal and save some money” but the temptation is too strong, and we each end up getting our own meals because everything looks so good. We’ve also seen people come in and just get a glass of wine then leave. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Enjoy the photos and videos!

If you’re looking for a spot in Burbank that actually delivers on food, vibe, and service, New Deal is it. Everything felt dialed in from the moment we walked in—friendly staff, a clean setup, and a chill atmosphere that works for either a quick bite or a sit-down meal.

The food was the standout. Fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care—no shortcuts. Portions were solid, everything came out hot, and you can tell they’re consistent with quality. We tried a couple different items and not a single miss.

Service was on point too—attentive without hovering, and they made sure we were taken care of the whole time.

Overall: great food, great people, and a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the intimate setting in the restaurant— decorated with a vintage decor. The place was immediately a happy atmosphere with tables set closely together to create a very hospitable and warm setting without being so close you felt invaded by strangers. Serving staff added to the fun and friendly atmosphere by being prompt, professional and upbeat.
We started with fried pickles and these were the best I have had in a long time. My meatloaf was a good portion and the mashed potatoes and green beans with almonds were perfectly paired. The vegetarian with me loved her vegetarian sloppy joe and fries. She was not able to order a sloppy joe in years and was very happy to have it — loved both her fries and sloppy joe.
It was a wine bar so no cocktails, but wine and beer choices were available from a house red wine to prosecco. Mike, our server, was friendly and efficient and made sure the bun was substituted for a non lethal choice for the allergic diner.
A neighborhood gem that if I wasn’t out of town would frequent often. Just felt so pleasant and homey while delivering good food with good portions. Cost us about $87.00 for two of us including alcohol, appetizer and two entrees and a 20% tip. We came during Christmas holiday and still found parking on the street— lucky but didn’t seem to be a problem anyway even though every table in the restaurant was taken the whole time we were there on a Friday night.
Lovely place for both friends and “dates” to gather.

Great food, friendly staff, awesome atmosphere. I have taken friends and family to this restaurant and it never disappoints. Fried pickles are a must if that is your thing. Cannot go wrong with their burgers. My family loves the meatloaf and they have a great wine selection.

WAY overpriced for teeny tiny portions. We had the veggie nachos, which were delicious. The vegetable melange was so tasty. There wasn’t enough cheese, but they were still very good. They were big enough for 1 person. Smaller than a personal pizza. The fried pickles were excellent, as was the Sriracha mayo dipping sauce, but again, super small portion. The street corn was very good, but alas, TINY. AND, they added a charge for cutting the corn off the cob! Not cool. We didn’t ask for it to be cut off the cob. It was only 1 cob anyway. Very annoying. We finished with the Mac and cheese which was a big disappointment. It was soupy. Very watery. Flavorless. The pasta itself was cooked fine, but the cheese was very watery and had no flavor. And again, very small portion. I would liken it to a SIDE of Mac and cheese. For $17, we figured it was a main dish. It was also listed as a main dish.

The service was slow and not very attentive. It’s also a small place, so it wouldn’t take much to keep an eye on all patrons. Despite the overpriced food and so-so service, the atmosphere was GREAT. Vintage feel, cool light fixtures, wood wall fixtures and the bar was nicely decorated.

Our check was delivered in an old paperback, which was unique. But that couldn’t make up for the tiny amount of food and the massive check.

We love coming to this excellent neighborhood spot and are so happy that this artisanal place opened up in our area. Delicious comfort food for everyone! Happy hour for adults with lunch, dinner and brunch for all. Kids enjoy their special menu and vintage shakes. Artisanal homemade desserts with wine and beer. We keep coming back!!!

I cannot say enough about how amazing this restaurant is!! When I traveled to visit my daughter Shelby in California, I make sure that we visit at least twice once for lunch and then once for dinner!! I promise you to service the food. The atmosphere is out of this world!! That says a lot for I live in Las Vegas, where customer service is the best in the world! I would give 10 stars if I could:) See you in two weeks!
