Mediocre burgers for a steep price. The BBQ Bacon Melt Cheeseburger is rather disappointing for a $15 burger. The sad, pale patty is dry and tasteless — no evidence of any charring from a real grill. The BBQ sauce is far too sweet and has none of the tangy taste that a barbecue sauce ought to have. Rubbery bacon and soggy fried onions only further subtract from the experience.

It’s a bit misleading to label this as The Melt without qualifications. This place offers only a fraction of the menu options that a real The Melt does, doesn’t offer the level of order customization that makes The Melt special, and orders from here aren’t included in The Melt’s rewards program. I’m surprised that The Melt lets its brand be used like this, since the experience here isn’t up to The Melt’s usual high standards.
