Start your day with an oceanside breakfast experience at Tinta. Located at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Tinta is the sister restaurant to the resort’s upscale Mexican eatery, Lona Cocina Tequileria. Tinta, meaning ink in Spanish, is the ink to Lona’s canvas, which is a reference to Chef Pablo Salas’ love of tattoos. Tinta serves breakfast exclusively while Lona has rocketed to popularity for its lunch and dinner service, killer brunch and bar program. Whether you are a local or just passing by, enjoy breakfast inside or out on the restaurant’s gorgeous oceanside terrace. Tinta by Lona is Fort Lauderdale’s go-to spot for a little sabor with a Mexican twist, and is sure to kick off any day right.
Chill brunch spot for sweet & savory plates with a Mexican twist, plus patio seating & ocean views.

We just had breakfast at Tinta on our first morning in Ft Lauderdale. Our waiter, Daniel, was 5-star! The food? Light but filling – I had the huevos rancheros – black beans, perfectly poached eggs placed on crispy tortillas and and a flavorful sauce. My partner had the Mexico City omelette, a combination of carne asade, pineapple, onion and cheese with lovely slices. Fresh and not overwhelming. We both agreed the food was excellent, so good that I forgot to take photos!
Let me tell you a few things that might give you clarity if you’re looking into having breakfast at Tinta, which is located in the Westin. If you follow Google maps, you won’t find it. What you will see is Lona. This space is Tinta for breakfast and Lona for lunch and dinner.
Since we were not staying at the Westin, we were seated inside the restaurant rather than on the patio. The inside is four star but a little dark. I’m sure the patio is a five star experience.
Try Tinta – and see if you can get seating outside!

Had a wonderful breakfast here! The oceanfront setting is absolutely beautiful. Nothing beats enjoying a meal with those views! I had the Mexican City Omelette and it was fresh, flavourful, and really hit the spot, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. A perfect place to start the day, especially if you love good food paired with a great view. Would definitely come back!

excellent breakfast experience with fantastic views of the ocean and cool breeze blowing through. enjoyed the Yucatan omelet and carnitas hash breakfast entrees. the Mexican spritzer and cafe latte were also spot on. servers were welcoming and hustled. great overall experience, we would go back again if in Ft Lauderdale.

Breakfast place with a nice view, but disappointing experience. The service was extremely slow—I waited around 15 minutes just to place my order. When the food finally arrived, it was very oily, which I honestly did not expect at all. It really took away from the meal and made the experience unpleasant. The place itself is beautiful and has a great view, so it’s nice if you just want to sit and relax, but the food and service definitely need improvement.

Bit of a mixed review here:
Food: good food, fairly creative menu items, my carnitas hash was loaded with flavorful pork, the eggs were an afterthought. Service was ok, they served coffee on a mug with lipstick on it (all men in my party), water wasn’t refilled, had to ask for cream multiple times. Food came out fairly quickly though. Ambiance: they had music blasting in the 2nd room, many guests were displeased, we asked them to lower the volume since we couldn’t hear each other, which they did, only to be amped up again minutes later, to which we were told ‘someone is looking into fixing it’… ummm, it’s just a knob!
Price: Food was good but just the service charge alone (not tip) makes these prices very high for the quality.
This is a place for tourists, you are paying for ocean view, for us locals there are better options.

Enjoyed wonderful breakfasts here every morning while staying at the Westin. Highly recommend Huevos Rancheros and that pop of glorious egg yolk for a delicious and colorful way to start the morning! Bring your shades and enjoy the Florida sunshine and spectacular ocean view as you eat outside.
Service is great even in busy moments, with staff working together to ensure everyone is served.
The tiny finches provide amusement on the sunny terrace; adorable little birds. Watch out for the aggressive Grackles, they love the food as well!
Thank you for wonderful food, service and spectacular mornings! ❤️

The food was amazing. Coffee was amazing. Our waiter Anna, was kind but a terrible waiter. She only came to the table four times. Once to get our drink/food order, once to apologize for not bringing our coffee out before the food had arrived because she had a talk with her manager, once to deliver coffee, and once to “collect plates” but we asked for bill. She never checked in on us additionally unless she needed to come to table. The fact that we both finished our meal before the coffee had even arrived was frustrating. Anna was also not very personable or friendly. However she did ask if we had any allergies which was thoughtful. The area was very clean. Our food (plain avocado toast and smothered burrito) was delicious and affordable. It was nice eating outdoors where you could watch the water and birds. Also the male host was awesome and very kind. There was another lady with bright pink lipstick who was very quick with serving water once we sat down and that was also very nice

Absolutely delicious meal. The pancakes were so so good. Fabulous portion size for the price. I didn’t even need the syrup, the pancakes were plenty sweet on their own. I wasn’t even able to finish unfortunately because it was just so much food. Really thick and fluffy pancakes.
The service was fantastic! They were very friendly and attentive, more than I would have expected because of how busy they were, I wouldn’t have blamed them for doing a bit less, but they stayed on their A+game.
View of the beach keeps the atmosphere so interesting or romantic, based on what’s going on. I’d definitely come back!

The atmosphere is cozy, modern, and offers a beautiful view that makes the experience even more special. The service was outstanding—attentive, fast, and very friendly. It’s definitely the perfect spot to start the day with a delicious breakfast and top-notch service. Highly recommended, I’ll be coming back soon!

The food was ok and service to spanish speakers was great very attentive. Ordered coffee, asked regarding cream and requested sugar. Took halfway through meal for sugar and cream to arrive. Requested water twice and kept had to ask for hot sauce, waiter ignored and assumed small bottles were already on the table, but not at our table.
