What a wonderful dinning experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and I actually cut mine with a butter knife. Extremely tender juice and delicious. Fresh baked potatoe with the “works” served on the side. We ordered the “wedge” salad and it was so fresh cold and delicious. Their foods are displayed beautifully! This is an extremely clean and an excellent atmosphere to relax and dine in. Excellent food service and drink. It doesn’t get any better!

I cook myself and can never find a good tasting steak when eating out. Not the story here loved the steak and baked potato. Stop here because my wife and I was sending off her sister for college. So after a 8.5 hour drive it’s a great place to eat. Thanks you to the staff and cooks. Hope to see you again.

Filet Mignon was prepared to perfection!! The beef is bought local. Absolutely best steak we have had!! The loaded baked potato was divine!! The bacon …yum!!!!! Homemade rolls very good!! Manager surprised us with cheesecake on the house for our Anniversary. What a sweet spot in Lamar, CO!! (Should have taken my photos before we cut into steaks but forgot!)

It was exciting almost to venture into this restaurant. I would pass by and observe the 5 star logo it possesses, so no doubt I was excited to finally go in. The doors are quite misleading and we had some trouble actually going. Once we were inside, we had the option to sit in the bar or the dining room, we chose the dining room because it was more quiet and spacious. We had made reservations for 5, but there were no tables that sat 5, so we had to take a chair from another table. We were given our menus and our waitress took our drink orders. We were waiting for a while before we finally were given our drinks. By then, we were ready to order. It was also quite a while before we got our food due to tickets being mixed up, which was confusing because there were only 3 tables in use. When we got our food, I was given the wrong burger and we still had to wait on another burger. The food was still good, but the service definitely could have been better. There was no rush, and our waitress even told us she had been working there for 4 months. For a 5 star restaurant, it only applies to their food.

I read all the reviews and still ate here. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly, baked potato had an attention to detail where the sour cream was served separately as it’s traditionally cold. Drinks are poured consistently.

I sat in the bar on a Thursday night, just me. I ordered a smoky old fashioned and it was amazing. Smoky at the start and the orange peel zest at the end really finished off the sweetest. Well done. In terms of food I got the KC Strip Surf and Turf. I never get to eat out but the staff was attentive and I enjoyed my experience immensely. Having someone cook for you is always a bonus but it’s even better when they do it well. Keep up the good work Chophouse!

I am a local and this place is the hole-in-the-wall for Lamar, Colorado…best food in the southeast corner of Colorado. I love everything about this restaurant, it’s a hidden corner, but once you find it, you will fall in love with the fine atmosphere.

Would NOT RECOMMEND to ANYONE. My husband and son waited over 2 hours until their food was served! Mind you, we had reservations! When contacting the manager their response was “I fit you in after reservations were closed online” word of advice just tell someone you don’t have availability. The Steak is probably the worst I’ve eaten at a restaurant. Extremely low quality piece of meat. (Possibly trying to cut corners due to the rise in prices of meat) The table across from us got up and left who had been waiting longer than us for their food. There is no reason to have a wait and have the service y’all had when people had to have reservations just to eat at this place. I hope you do seriously take this review into consideration before wasting your money. The best thing I can say it your wait staff was very hospitable and don’t deserve the backlash they get from a poorly ran establishment.
