My lady and I went here for Valentine’s Day dinner. We had a reservation. We arrived a little early, but our table was ready. The vintage vibe was nice (wish they updated their furniture, maybe adding old pub-style leather booths). Our server was kind, and her service was outstanding. We ordered the 12-oz prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. I also ordered the ribeye with a loaded baked potato and fried onion strings. I was surprised by the wide selection of sides, as the website dinner menu didn’t mention some. The food tasted great, especially the prime rib, which melted in my mouth. The ribeye was okay. In my opinion, it needs more char-smoked flavor. I wish I could give 5 stars, but one mistake caught my eye when we were checking out and packing our food. A tiny hair piece was at the bottom of my onion strings. But overall, it was a decent experience at the library.

Decided to try this place for dinner since it looked like the only niceish restaurant within walking distance of my airport hotel. It’s a cool building. The themed decoration is strongest in the foyer, but the whole restaurant has a charm to it. There are a few rooms in the house which are somewhat secluded from each other, and I was in the bar area with just a handful of tables, which made the place feel less busy to me than it actually was – I was surprised at how quiet it was on a Friday night until I was leaving and saw that there were more diners in other areas of the restaurant that weren’t visible from my seat.
The food was pretty good. I first ordered a draft oat stout by New Holland Brewing, which was a very nice beer poured perfectly. Complimentary bread and pesto were brought out before my entree. The bread was so good – it was very soft and fresh, brushed with a flavourful herb butter. My entree was the vegan puttanesca. The dish had a good variety of vegetables all cooked well, and the marinara sauce was tasty (lots of garlic) but so brothy that I felt like I needed a spoon to eat it, but alas no spoon was provided. The waitress did offer more bread but I didn’t feel hungry enough, so I declined and just tried to get as much as I could with my fork. The cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert was very good too – the cheesecake was rich and a little tangy but not overly dense or sweet. I appreciated that their dessert menu has both smaller and larger desserts, so I could get something from the small bites menu for just myself.
I think my entree was too expensive for what it was – chickpea pasta and vegetables in marinara sauce – but the prices made more sense for the drinks, dessert, and meat/seafood entrees.
The service throughout the meal was great. My waitress was attentive and very nice. She checked in often to see if I needed anything else but was also patient with me and other parties. The hostess was also pleasant. I didn’t have to wait long after ordering to get my food either.
Given that its located right by a handful of airport hotels, I expected more of a traveler vibe, but it seemed like the crowd was mostly locals, which actually makes sense to me after my visit. It’s a really nice, kind of old-school place with good food, and it could fit the bill whether you want a casual but quality meal, or a nice night out.

I had an 12 oz rib eye steak medium with Cesar salad. I don’t remember when was the last time when had such a delicious steak made for me at the restaurant!
Very nice place and people who work there are great to. I will be back to try more.

I travel here once a month mid month for massage clients & absolutely love this place. The stuffed salmon is my fave. The botanical garden drink is amazing and I always top off the meal with either the lemon bar or the creme brulee….

I have just found the best restaurant in Indiana. And I am so impressed with the library!!!!!

For years, from a dozen or more casual to fine dining restaurants, I have found any food served in Indiana to be overtly bland and badly prepared dishes. From South Bend, to Terra Haute, downtown Indianapolis to Gary. Everywhere I went it was the same results. Until I came here.

First the service was great, they accommodated us even when we came in near closing. Served us fresh bread and made excellent recommendations.

I had the French onion soup, which I could tell was made with a sherry base. SO GOOD! My friend had the Ceasar salad. Though simple, I have found too many of the restaurants I have been to in Indiana to not make it with anchovys and skip the use of Dijon mustard elements, which is crucial.

My friend had the half rack of ribs that were superbly cooked and we could tell the sauce had a unique element like tangerine added to the sauce which was awesome. It was served with asparagus and as a Chef, I was so impressed that they served young, thin cut asparagus. The flavor is a hundred times better when using young asparagus, compared to the lazy 3 thick cut asparagus. So super quodos to them!!!

I had the Bourbon maple glazed Pork chops that were excellent, served with a supper creamy and rich red potato, garlic mashed potatoes

In all, everything was spot on and riveled any restaurant in any major city in the country.

I know for a fact, this will be the only restaurant I go to when traveling across Indiana.

Amazing restaurant! Got seated right away and waiter was extremely polite. Food arrived around 15 minutes after it was ordered and was very fresh and delicious. Also, I loved the aesthetic. The books and paintings were very unique compared to other restaurants. Was a little pricey but totally worth it!

The service and atmosphere are beyond compare to other restaurants in the area. It is a great meeting location for friends or business luncheons. Order a steak medium and it came out very rare but it was fixed immediately. The servers are awesome and provide some of the best service I have received at any restaurant.

Never had a bad meal at the Library and I go at lunch. I always ask for Kelly because she is a Rockstar, even remembers my drunk order after not being back for 3-4 months. All the staff is courteous and friendly. Great place!!

All the food was amazing. Probably best prime rib I’ve ever had. The clam chowder was also amazing. Sat at the bar and had a good time. Dining room seemed kinda empty and minimally decorated but everything was quality. Don’t let the random location lead you astray.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I have been living 10 minutes away for awhile and had no clue it existed until a month ago. We decided to check it out on a whim, and were very impressed. The food is AMAZING. The service is great and fast. The atmosphere is fun and creative. The cocktails are delightful. We came back again tonight and were even more impressed. Truly, you wouldn’t expect to find such great food across in such an unassuming area, but do not pass this place up! If I were to suggest anything at all, I think the atmosphere in the main dining hall could be jazzed up a bit more, maybe dimmer lighting more fun furniture/decor, but that is it. This place is awesome .
