Fantastic French fries, a neat atmosphere, and friendly, if not readily available staff. Bottomless mimosas, and a neat bloody Mary bar are available. Another plus, it never seems too busy.

Absolutely the worst bloody Mary’s ever. At $12.95 a piece I guess my standards are too high!! Green cheese and plastic cups!! Very watered down and stuff floating. I sent them back when I seen green on my prawns. Skimpy ff portions, did the price of potatoes go up? Left hungry and unsatisfied!! Trying Bennetts fish shack!!

Nice spot for a family dinner or get together with friends. Modern funky decor inside, clean space and a nice menu variety. I had started of fresh edamame with ground sea salt. The. Mahi mahi fish tacos. The fish was really overcooked and so dry. I had a hard time even cutting it with my knife. My husband had the clam linguine and said it was amazing.

I feel their is two different experiences at the Islander. The Restaurant and the Bar in the back. While most times walking into the front, I’ve noticed no hostess at the podium to greet us. We opt out anyways and walk right past the restaurant into the back for the Bar. We personally don’t know if happy hours happen in the restaurant but we like the tv’s and the atmosphere in the Bar – oh did I mention happy hour!? Not many places on Mercer have good happy hours but the Islander knocks off a buck or so per item to actually feel like it’s worth it.

The truffle fries are probably our all time favorite where the pulled pork sandwich comes in close second.

Having said all that, one thing is you need to be assertive in The Islander. I can understand why people say “it takes forever for someone to give service” as I am one of those people that will wait patiently forever. But with how busy this place can get with a small staff and kitchen; your best bet is to flag them down because they can’t always do their steps.

To counter the small staff and kitchen – food comes out amazingly quick. Even at its most packed times, 10-15 minutes max after ordering food.

great service, my girlfriend ordered a crab and shrimp salad. Pretty lame crab portion size, must give our server kudos for handling the situation in a kind way. However, wont be back unless for drinks to watch a game. Very clean but no hostess and we waited needlessly at front. Just go back to the nicer bar area if you visit. Food was pretty average, and thank you for the great service!

Great ambience and location however the service is always at best mediocre and inconsistent. Food is in the most part excellent. You just need to be able to go with the flow in terms of the service, you’ll never know what you’ll get. Get your own water while you wait to get served other times, it’s spot on. Not knocking it or promoting it, it is what it is, could be spectacular with a little bit more effort. Convenient for those on the island.

I have been to this restaurant around 10 times and it never impresses which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but the service has never been more than average. Simple things like needing a napkin for an entire meal (after asking twice) or waiting 10min for the server to make their way back to you (happens every single time so be prepared to flag someone down or wait patiently.)

The cheeseburger was disappointing and I didn’t even have any expectations. Try the meat loaf instead, much better but not on the lunch menu.

Cool place, the menu has some interesting stuff on it. The prices were good and the execution on the food was quality. They have me a perfectly done medium rare steak and my friend’s pork chop was raved about. If you’re on Mercer Island it’s worth checking out.

Love this place! They’ve been one of the few places I’ve gone INTO during covid-19, since they reopened. I always go to the back bar, mostly for their great happy hour deals. The menu has been revamped over the last several months. The tacos are . Tables are well spaced. People have been responsible with masking.

Nice restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was really good, at a decent price. I had the, “Ultimate” burger, and It was very tasty, and the fries may have been the best I ever had in a restaurant. Worth checking out for dinner, if your on your way home, crossing over the 1-90 bridge after work.
