I’ve been to almost every “high-end” restaurant in Billings, Montana, and I can honestly say this place has by far the highest-quality ingredients and presentation in the local area. It’s very clear they genuinely care about both their food and their customers.

The oysters tasted like they were harvested from the ocean just hours before hitting the table—which is seriously impressive for Montana. I ordered the beet salad, and the balance of flavors was incredibly satisfying. The candied walnuts paired beautifully with the goat cheese, creating a really clean, well-thought-out bite. To finish, I had the crab cakes, which were perfectly seared on the outside and served with a rich, creamy sauce that tied everything together.

What really stood out to me was the presentation. Proper presentation matters just as much as quality food—it elevates the entire experience. When food looks intentional and well-crafted, it enhances the enjoyment before you even take the first bite.

Jamie behind the bar made the experience even better. Her bubbly personality and genuine energy added so much to the atmosphere. Every great restaurant needs great people—it’s all part of the experience. To me, the food is always a reflection of the people behind it.

I’d recommend this place to any true foodie. There are a lot of mediocre restaurants in Billings, and I really hope this one gets the exposure it deserves.

My husband and I have visited the Granary multiple times within the last month after recently discovering the location. The food has always been fantastic as well as the service, specifically Jaime and Julia. However, we lately discovered the downstairs Jackelobe Speakeasy and while our first experience was great, they had a special Vinyl Night event on 2/26. Julia has a clear understanding of what a true Speakeasy is but from what we observed, the event planner/host (Cindy?) did not. Julia has made it an enjoyable experience, but this particular event seemed to stray far away from the traditional Speakeasy experience/atmosphere. Unfortunately, the guests assisting with the event (DJs, Clothing and jewlery merchant) seemed to lack the traditional sophistication, class/elegance necessary for the theme of what I assume patrons are expecting from a Speakeasy experience. We will undoubtedly keep returning to The Granary/Jackelobe but with hopes of this feedback being taken into consideration. I understand the Jackelobe very recently opened and I hope it reaches its full potential, especially with Julia’s vision and mannerisms. Overall, we love this place!

We had an excellent experience. The food was fresh and delicious and was served quickly. The pretzel was awesome! They were very accommodating with food allergies and served us close to close. The bartender did an excellent job and the drinks were perfect! 5 stars. We will visit again next time we come through town. The best meal we have had in Billings the entire weekend.

Absolutely delicious! The server was attentive and helpful. She suggested the smash burger. You can’t go wrong ordering it. The burger was tender and juicy. The sauce was really yummy. To end it she suggested the chocolate chip cookie in a skillet with vanilla bean ice cream. Would definitely come back and eat there again!

Kate- Kate was our server for this evening and for the record she was the nicest most professional i have ever had! Who dates the left container? Kate does! A+
Food- we tried the corn soup. Some salads and the Granary pasta. Presentation was very nice and every dish was tasty and fresh. The restaurant was super cozy and the fireplace was a nice touch. If i lived in Billings i would be a regular as we are finding out the food here can be hit or miss.
Granary A! Nice job

P.S. they have the coolest silverware!

This was our first time here and we will absolutely be back! My boyfriend and I enjoyed chicken kimchi dumplings, steak frites with truffle fries, and their special; a bison burger with goat cheese and huckleberry jam. And if the food wasn’t enough to get us back in the door, the service was the cherry on top. Stephanie was welcoming and attentive. Not to mention, quite a rockstar behind the bar AND on the floor. She handled a full dining room with a smile on her face. Loved the atmosphere of this place and can’t wait to eat here again!

We had our first meal here and really liked the ambiance and friendly service. The giant pretzel and mussel appetizer were excellent! Unfortunately, the main courses were hit or miss. The French fries that came with three of our entrees were cold and soggy, and even the kids commented on it. My daughter’s steak was tasty, but my bone-in pork chop was dry and served over leeks that weren’t very enjoyable. For the price, I expected a bit more substance — maybe a starch or side that complemented the dish better.

On a business trip, I came here for dinner or alone after receiving a strong recommendation from a very good friend.

I sat outside by the fire pit. The server and service were fantastic and very attentive.

Good selection of beer and wine, including nonalcoholic, beer, which I appreciated and enjoyed. They serve the Athletic brand of NA beers, and the price was fair and reasonable ($5).

I had the fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. Very good fish and chips, although too expensive (I’ve had the best fish and chips in the world in the UK and New Zealand, prices for nowhere near this!).

Overall, I would highly recommend. The rest of the menu looks fantastic as well, and I was curious about the burger, Arrabiata/meatball dish, and the soups.

We had a party of 8. The hostess seemed put out because we didn’t have reservations and had to check with management. But after that, our dining experience was just fantastic. Sydney, our waitress, did a great job. Our food was very tasty and presented nicely. The restaurant is quiet and they play great music. Best place for a group meal, but i would say reservations are recommended.
