This is a great spot. Bright, roomy good flow. I have tried 4 dishes and I’m 3 out of 4. For me service, was good? But you have to have patience, there short on staff ( like all restaurants) so don’t be rude, just understand. Moreover, that’s what’s changes the atmosphere. Tension, dismiss Instead.

We enjoyed 3 meals in two days at the Gateway. A convenient excellent restaurant colocated with our hotel, The French Country Inn. Two of the meals were our evening meals: 1st night: steak and shrimp Diablo, 2nd night meatball sub and a grouper sandwich. We would highly recommend all of these dishes. The calamari appetizer and the spinach salad with hot bacon dressing was delicious. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was alive, and the kitchen was quick. Two thumbs up, all the stars and our highest recommendation.

My husband and I went to The Getaway for my birthday dinner. The dining room is so simple and clean, and the view of the lake is spectacular. I got the chicken Marsala, it was delicious. My husband got the lobster roll, unique menu item for the area and so good! The garlic mash was my potato of choice and was also so good. There was a live band that started playing towards the end of dinner and it was perfect dinner music. Easy listening and we could still have a conversation. We stopped at the bar after dinner for one more cocktail and we were also very impressed by the bar area. Great hangout spot. We’ll definitely be back!

It was my husbands birthday and we were spending time at a lake house in the area. Making the reservation was super easy and we were greeted immediately upon arriving. I had reserved a table outside, with such a great view – who would sit inside?

You’re paying for the ambience. Very friendly but very slow service. The first cup of coffee was lukewarm and the second was only slightly warmer. Silverware doesn’t include a spoon, so stirred the creamer in with a fork. Ordered a spinach and feta omelette with hash browns and toast. The omelette was perfectly cooked with a nice amount of spinach. There was maybe a teaspoon of some horrible rubbery mystery feta on top, none in the omelette itself. Toast comes pre-buttered for you; no one asked if you wanted it that way and there isn’t extra butter on the table. Oh, and there is a 25% service fee conveniently added in for you which I think is the waitstaff’s gratuity so of course there’s no reason for them to be in a hurry or anything (table for one, btw). Nope, won’t be coming back.

Salad and soup were good. Bread cost 6.00! What restaurant charges for bread?? You get a little saucer of olive oil to share! Steaks were ordered med and med well and they were raw. The prime rib was a dish of fat. I know prime rib is fatty but this was mostly fat. We did send that back for a better cut. The asparagus was not cook at all and no one ate it. The risotto was very salty. The service wasn’t good either. My daughter never got her salad and we had to flag down a bus boy because the waitress never came back to the table. Then my daughter never got her entree and it finally came after we all ate. This is a very pricey restaurant and not worth the money at all. Very disappointed
