Wow! Awesome! I had the falafel wrap and the sweet potato bites. Too often vegan food is loaded with salt to compensate for the lack of meat, but this place simply uses fresh ingredients and combines them well for a refreshing taste that still satisfies. I know you will ask, so I’ll tell you they are 100% vegan. I checked several hiding spots in the prepackaged drinks and nothing. You can eat here with confidence. I’m not vegan, but I’ve found that vegans (even the ones who use too much salt) take great pride in their food. I enjoy all food if it is well made and with heart. This place does just that. They put their heart into their food and you will be able to taste it. (The good food, not their actual heart. That’s weird!) If you are looking for a local, environmentally conscious restaurant with great food, then try out the Gentle Giant Café. I promise you won’t regret it.

The Gentle Giant Cafe has been on my list of places to try for a while now and today, I finally had the pleasure of dining here with my partner and friend. The cafe is located on an adorable street in Pitman and the parking was easy (and free)! The owners were both working today and very helpful in making recommendations on the menu. We got some specials- two different soups (a 3 bean with tempeh crumble and a peanut butter pumpkin) paired with super delicious corn muffins and agave butter. I could have eaten at least three of those muffins and as a proclaimed not-a-soup-person, the three bean was slammin’ and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also got battered brussel sprouts and crinkle fries with a plethora of vegan dipping sauces. All three of us ordered the BLT with pesto mayo and we got a side of chickpea salad. We all left full and satisfied. Aside from the healthy and delicious vegan/gluten free food you also want to support this cafe because they are doing so much good for the community and rescue animals. The owners talked about and recommended some other local small businesses and gave us information on upcoming events in Pitman. The walls of the cafe are lined with rescue animals from the sanctuaries they support. I personally not only want to eat healthy, yummy vegan food and support small businesses, but I also want to support people who care about their community and want to make the world a better place. I look forward to bringing back my friends to dine here!

Very cute cafe offering delicious 100% plant-based cuisine. The falafel wrap is incredibly delicious and flavorful.
I hope they will expand their menu just a bit. I found it too limiting, but completely understand their focus on fewer menu items. At least for the time being.

With delicious food and a cozy atmosphere, this adorable vegan cafe is the perfect brunch spot. The service is spectacular and you are welcomed like family. We recently attended their Gilmore Girls Breakfast and had such a wonderful time. The attention to detail made you feel as if you were dining in Stars Hallow complete with “Luke” at the counter. They also partner with rescues and animal outreach organizations. If you are looking for amazing, compassionate cuisine with small town, nostalgic ambience, you must visit the Gentle Giant Cafe

Oh. My. Goodness! A pork roll vegan sandwich?! Chickpea salad sandwich (“toona”)?! And a kids menu for my vegan kid? Wow!! Everything was great. Great value, too! Great portions. You’ll leave full!
They also have peanut butter cup cookie dessert things which were heavenly. And they have YUM earth candy, which is nice instead of the candy with all the colorings and dyes, so I let my child choose two and they have CHOMP peanut butter cups and chocolate bars !

Such a lovely little space. Owners are so sweet. Nice to have vegan space in town. And they’re super inclusive and a safe space. Will definitely be back.

Very cute little place – this is the second time we’ve stopped by! We came in towards closing, the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The food is unbelievable – as a fussy vegetarian, I usually struggle to find things I like, but I was spoilt for choice here. They also made a custom iced coffee and it was definitely the best coffee I’ve ever had!
