We grabbed seats at the outside bar, played cards, and had a perfect view into the lively interior. There was live music, and they turned on the propane heaters and overhead electric heaters, making it comfortably warm.
Our server, Edward, was fantastic. Friendly, funny, and very attentive. He kept our waters full, checked in often.
We started with the Breads and Spreads, which included a rustic baguette, German pretzel stick, and house Florida sweet cornbread with garlic herb truffle butter, pimento cheddar spread, and raw local honey butter. It paired beautifully with our wine, though the “truffle” butter leaned more toward rosemary than truffle.
For entrées, we split the pulled pork sandwich and the smoked brisket sandwich. The pulled pork with Carolina gold mustard sauce and napa slaw on a brioche bun was excellent, and we upgraded to the truffle fries. The brisket had good flavor but was a bit undercooked in spots with noticeable fat, which works better on a plate than in a sandwich, so we ended up pulling the meat out to trim it and skipping the bun.
Overall, solid food, a great atmosphere, and outstanding service. We will definitely be back.

Since I’ve heard so many good things about this restaurant, we took family visiting us from SC to The General Public House for dinner tonight. I was able to make a last minute reservation for four. Let me start by saying their menu is excellent. Our drinks were great, especially the expreso martini. We ordered the Florida lobster bisque and tatanka wings as appetizers. We had GPH award winning ribs, smoked salmon dinner, pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries, caesar salad, and house salad. We brought bourbon pecan pie and peanut butter pie home for dessert. We all highly recommend this restaurant! The food and service was spectacular. We will be going back for dinner soon!

5 Stars! A Hidden Gem in New Smyrna Beach. The menu is fantastic—diverse options that hit every craving without overwhelming you. But let’s talk about those Saturday and Sunday BBQ ribs… oh man, they practically melt off the bone, tender and packed with smoky flavor that had me licking my fingers like a kid. Paired it with what has to be the best French onion soup I’ve ever had—rich, cheesy, and just the right amount of caramelized goodness to warm you up. The staff? Absolute top-notch. Everyone’s friendly and on point, but shoutout to Max behind the bar—he’s exceptional, whipping up drinks with a smile, took my order and explained the menu. The whole vibe is super laid-back, like kicking back with old friends: cozy booths, chill music, and no pretentious nonsense. Practical perks seal the deal—plenty of free parking right out front and back, and it’s a breeze to pop in and out without the hassle. Prices are fair too; you leave stuffed and satisfied without breaking the bank. If you’re in New Smyrna Beach, do yourself a favor and hit up The General Public House. We’ll be back next trip!

Solid 4.8/5 — Friendly staff from the top down. Food was very good! Honey fried chicken was crispy and flavorful along with the white sauce. It really complemented the chicken.
The shrimp pasta was also very good! Pasta was cooked perfect and the sauce added a subtle spicy flavor that wasn’t overpowering. Would recommend stopping by for a meal or drink whenever in town.

What an amazing place for Brisket and Wings. We tried the delicious lollipop wings and omg it was to die for. I also order a Harvest salad with grilled shrimp and no bacon. Hubby got the smoked brisket with sweet potato waffles.
For cocktails we order our favorite Moscow Mule with Tito’s.
Staff is very friendly and attentive. Owner was also there and was very welcoming. We are definitely coming back.

We had the shaved ribeye, Max and cheese and the beet and goat cheese bruschetta. All three dishes are bursting with flavor! We will definitely be back!

Food was not good. I ordered the crispy beer battered fish and it was greasy and not crispy, fries were under cooked. My husband ordered pulled pork (peril), just terrible. The rice was way undercooked.
The lollipop chicken after we ate it was raw in the middle. Very disappointing

Wow ,my wife and I had a wonderful time. It was very busy for a good reason, food was outstanding, martinis filled to the top the way they should be. Very glad we made a reservation. Tim was polite and got us right to the table with drinks . That guy was working behind the bar to help and helping wait staff. Extremely busy. Hannah our waitress was beautiful, kind and polite. Great people making it a great experience. Brisket was delicious probably the best I have had .
We will drive from Deltona to go back absolutely..

I only came here due to the fact that i heard there was new management & boy…you can most definitely tell! First off, the ambiance is like no other in new Smyrna beach. I have lived here my entire life and have NEVER felt a more warmer and welcoming place. Everyone had a smile and was very polite and friendly. Second, the food…oh my goodness, the FOOD! Every single item I ordered was to die for! The tatanka wings are a MUST for apps. Last but most certainly not least, my bartender Cherish, made me a superb creamy espresso martini that blew every single one i’ve had so far out of the water! So shoutout Cherish for the amazing crafted cocktails! As a man by himself i’ve never felt more welcome in a bar. It was my first time and i was receiving regular treatment. Happy hour prices are a whole other story for a whole other day. Just know that you’re getting a bang for your buck!
