The French Hen is a restaurant on Selby Ave and it specializes in breakfast/brunch. I think it’s one of the best brunch places in the twin cities because the food is familiar (like biscuits Visalia gravy) but they add their own twist to make everything unique. Note: the entrance is through the flower shop directly next door.

I enjoyed the sweet crepe and the only thing sweeter was the service from K8 I also had the quiche Lorraine which was the perfect balance of protein to provide a well rounded meal. My friend had the Catfish Benedict she described it as light and fresh. The fried greened tomatoes were absolutely perfect!!!

The French Hen is one of the best breakfast places in MN. The service is always great, the food is spectacular and the atmosphere is cozy. I recommend going early to beat the rush. The biscuits and gravy is one of my top 3 favorites anywhere but you can’t go wrong with whatever you order. We’ve tried several menu items like the coconut lime French toast, Bahn MI Benedict, creole market hash and the blueberries pancake, all amazing.. but still not as great as the biscuits and gravy!

I loved this place! It was my first visit, and the service and food were both wonderful. I got the Salmon Scrambled Eggs with toast and the side salad it came with was incredibly fresh and yummy. My partner ordered the quiche, which was flaky and flavorful. Then we shared a PANcake, which was honestly the thickest, most wonderful thing! It was perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and cakey on the inside. I used the jam from my toast to really put it over the edge.

Quiche is the best I had. The puff pastry was so buttery and the filling was delicious. Benedict was good, however I felt the meat was too much( maybe not a bad thing) and overwhelming and salty. The meat becomes the main element of the dish while I prefer that the eggs could be the highlight in a more traditional way. And finally I found the veggies at the bottom of the plate could kind of offset the fat and salt in the meat, but it was a little bit too late and I missed the perfect moment to catch the balance of the combination of heavy and light elements.

BEST BREAKFAST IN ST. PAUL! For real, this is some of the best brunch I’ve ever had. I love this restaurant so much. The food is so good and the service is top notch. The space is small so it can get crowded but the earthy café vibe is great. The Bahn Mi Benedict is amazing and definitely a must try!

A lackluster breakfast for both of us. Crepe (one) stuffed with a very tart rhubarb filling was okay, but the foam on top was billed as meringue and Bobby’s quiche with puff pastry was… travesty … microwaved. Weak coffee. Service was attentive. Very noisy inside.

Great cafe in St Paul. The banh mi Eggs Benedict was to die for. The biscuits and gravy was so so. You can eat outside or I side.

Food was amazing! Host sat us right away and was able to accommodate our larger party. Server was okay. Took a while for her to greet us and take drink orders as well as for us to get drinks and to put our food order in but over all great experience! Kids loved their food and so did the adults! Would love to see a kids menu!

Food was good. The regular pancakes were huge. I think I would have gotten the baby cakes if I knew they size ahead of time. The sea salt Carmel latte was great
