The French Gourmet is an absolute gem in the Ferndale and Royal Oak area! My wife and I came for brunch for the first time, and everything was phenomenal. I had the Spiced Vegetables à la Provençale egg white omelet, and my wife had the Strawberry Crêpes. Both dishes were immaculately prepared and plated, and were exceptionally delectable. The restaurant itself may be small, but don’t let the size fool you — the quality is top-notch.

The host, Marvin is a pretty attentive guy. The food ranges from great to ok. The salt and pepper shakers and table need to be cleaned. Two experiences. From 2 1/2 to 4 stars. First grand marnier souffle was perfect. Recent one had the alcohol swimming in the bottom. Your expectations can be from good to very good.
