Pizza was also well seasoned , the dough was a little underbaked
Desert was phenomenal (I got the bourbon caramel)
Drinks were well made and pretty good even if they weren’t my favorite flavors ( I tried the holiday cocktails to be fun , mistletoe martini 9/10, Paloma 7/10)
I absolutely enjoyed the ambiance, the wonderfully friendly staff, very good holiday drinks, dinner and dessert!
Parking is either on street or in a parking lot. If you are in the area, check this restaurant out! I looked online for restaurants nearby while out Christmas shopping and truly enjoyed.
The menu features unique dishes that you won’t find anywhere close by. We started with the bacon wrapped stuffed dates which were bursting with flavor, and the chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection. Every dish was bold inventive flavors that really stood out. The best part? The side dishes are very customizable, allowing us to tailor our meals to our preferences. We got a side of wings with our pierogis.
As a fun bonus, they even host karaoke nights, which added an extra layer of fun to the evening. It was a unique and entertaining touch that made the birthday celebration even more special.
Parking was also a breeze with on-street parking available right outside and nearby parking lots, so we didn’t have to worry about finding a spot.
We can’t wait to go back and try more of their unique offerings. It’s definitely worth a trip.
Before you even walk through the front door of The Fox Den, you are greeted by an army of adorable fox stuffies, figurines, and artworks!
I have been here on several occasions now, and I can happily say I have never had a bad experience. The staff are all super friendly and attentive, and there’s always some kind of fun activity going on! Whether it’s crafting in the company of strangers, casual board games with friends, or karaoke night, there’s never a dull moment at this place! Always lots of smiling faces wherever you look!
Do I personally like pierogis? No. But I love this place far too much to leave a mean review. My partner DOES like pierogis and says these are some of the best!
If you love fancy drinks, pierogis, fun community activities, and most importantly FOXES, you will LOVE The Fox Den!!!
If you’re not a fan of pierogis like myself… consider how much you love foxes and french fries…
ALSO THEY HAVE MERCH GUYS, EVERYONE SHOULD BUY A CROCHET FOX
Unfortunately we didn’t love the food, and food is king for us.
Here are our ratings:
Kale soup: (1/5) tasted as if they had not used actual broth but just water and tried to flavor it with the sausage. They were really nice and took this one off our check.
Classic pierogi: (3.5/5) We love pierogi and have been known to drive hours to have handmade pierogi. The skins were good, the potato filing a nice texture. The flavor didn’t have the richness of other pierogis we have had
Samosa Pierogi: (2/5) It didn’t have Indian flavoring. It tasted like thai curry (I could taste lemongrass) with potato, a bit off
Mango Pulled Pork Pierogi: (2/5) flavor was muddy, trying to do too many things
This place could be great—I think I’d have enjoyed this place more if they anchored themselves a bit more in the Polish palette with the pierogi—perhaps adding a cheese pierogi and also sides of onions sautéed in butter and applesauce.
That said if you want a nice bar with craft beer to hang out and love fusion and aren’t picky foodies like us, you might love it!
Here’s a breakdown of our experience:
Pancakes: Dry and flavorless. We were charged $1 for a tiny 1-ounce caramel topping (the waiter suggested it but didn’t mention each topping has a separate fee). Only one bite was eaten so dry. The waitress took the plates without asking why they were basically untouched. (When she clearly saw the plate full) Any other place would ask, did she not like it…. nothing.
Perogies: Lacked flavor and seasoning. Three perogies cost $16, plus $2 for rice and $7 for a single sausage—very overpriced for what was served. (Lack of flavor or salt)
Pizza: The bread was good, but the pizza itself was not. It was a personal size and the kids didn’t want to eat it….. the parent had to help. (Agreed no flavor)
Mac and Cheese: Arrived late, completely flavorless, and all pasta was al dente. Adding salt did not help. $17 for this dish felt unjustified. (Waste of money)
Kale Soup: No warning that it would be spicy. When I asked if the sausage was spicy, the staff said no—but it was.
Service issues: One beer was served, and I noticed the bartender using her finger to remove foam off the top of the glass. When our food arrived, no utensils were on the table; we had to grab them from another table.
Overall, the menu seems poorly thought out, the food quality is inconsistent, and the service had multiple lapses. We will not be returning. Our bill was over 200 and really just turned us off from going out to eat tonight – even though we are visiting with family we all decided money is better off spent – cooking at home.
