Nice restaurant inside of the beautiful and ornate, art deco Ambassador Inn. I’ve only tried their food at the bar of Gin Rickey, but will one day sit in their dining room and order more than just appetizers. This is usually the go to before a concert at The Rave/Eagle’s Ballroom. The bar is rectangular and when busy, can take a minute for service. The staff have always been very polite despite getting slammed before shows. There’s a nice outside seating area as well. Sometimes you’ll run across one of the performers after the show in their patio during the summer.

We really enjoyed our experience here last night. It’s located in the Ambassador hotel. My girlfriend had purchased a Valentine Day special, which essentially gave us each an appetizer, salad/soup, entree and desert for a very reasonable price.
We ordered our drinks first. I decided on the BA Manhattan and she ordered the Valentine’s Kiss. Both were very enjoyable.
As for food, she ordered the shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, filet, and chocolate cake. I ordered the ahi tuna, the strawberry champagne salad, the filet, and the churro desert. Food was excellent and we enjoyed everything that we ordered. Particular standouts were the filets and the deserts. Our filets were prepared and cooked perfectly to our preference, and we both ordered it with the portobello bleu topping (which was outstanding.). We both enjoyed the chocolate cake, but the churro desert was out of this world! They were so fresh and served with marshmallow cream and caramel drizzle. One of the best desserts I have had in a long time.
We were told they do brunch there. We will definitely be back to try that. Our server was Cristal and she was great. Very attentive and kind. The whole staff was great last night.

Great place to grab a bite before a show. We had the coconut shrimp, Cubano, and Caesar chicken wrap.

We had a delicious lunch at The Fitz. The special was the Monte Cristo. It was amazing. And the fries were super thin and crispy. I had the potato soup as an appetizer. The sandwich was so big, I had enough for lunch the next day. Our server was super, and we were too full to try the 95th Anniversary chocolate cake. Something for our next visit.

This was our first visit to the Ambassador Hotel home of The Fitz and Gin Rickey. This restaurant and partner bar was a wonderful experience and a beautiful venue. Dedicated to F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The night started with a couple cocktails in the pre-prohibition themed bar Gin Rickey. A great selection of wines and signature cocktails. I had a Sazerac and their signature Manhattan both were outstanding. We also had a flatbread since it was happy hour, very food and the bar staff is both very knowledgable and excellent at their craft.
Next, we went into the restaurant to have dinner. My wife had the Scallops and I had the Short Rib entree. Both were excellent and again our server was first class. They treated us with some champagne for our celebration. The entire staff also gave us some history of this wonderful hotel.
We look forward to going back.

The server dumped my husband’s food down my back before a concert. That’s not the bad part because I understand it was an accident. The bartender bought us a a beer for that. My new shirt was completely ruined from ketchup which a free beer did not make up for. Both bartenders totally ignored us after that and we couldn’t even get another drink. Had to wait and wait for the bill. I had to eat while my food was warm and my husband had none, then I finished and then my husband finally got his food. Also was a bit creeped out by the bartender trying to clean me up.

Total disaster. No staff! No host, no bussers, one inexperienced server. Mass confusion. People wandering around waiting to be seated. Some sat themselves but no one ever came to their tables, got up and left. We managed to get a cocktail after about 35 minutes, ordered food from the only server, had to cancel all but the appetizer after waiting forever. Was a celebration and needless to say was hugely disapointing. Close the doors and figure it out.

Always love going to the Ambassador Hotel and Gin Rickey’s! Erin was our bartender and server yesterday. A true professional like her makes this place a must do when in the area. Kudos to the entire staff for the warm welcome by all.
