Food was delicious! The only thing I would say is to go a little easy on the salt. I ordered the stake frites and the steak and fries were veryyy salty. It could have been the peppercorn sauce, but it was way too much. Other than that, the beef tartar appetizer was incredible! Brussel sprouts and burger as well! Staff was very friendly.

Came for a happy hour on Sunday (it’s offered Sun – Thurs) and there was plenty of seating. Ordered the empire lemonade, sangria, margarita, and cucumber gin and tonic. They were all very good. Also ordered the charcuterie board, but didn’t get the $1 discount for happy hour. Besides that, it was also good stuff. Definitely a fun happy hour stop. The normal menu is a bit pricey, but all sounds delicious.

My time here was expensive, got charged to have BBQ sauce on the side of an expensive burger and a hidden charge for the kitchen staff. For what you pay… I don’t think it was anything that special. Prices seemed high end for a very casual environment.

This adorable restaurant on a cute street of historic restaurants should have been better. Some of the dishes were tasty and well prepared, others weren’t. We had a Mezza board to start, which had good deviled eggs and other bits on it. Could have had some celery to go with the hummus, which quickly ran out of pita pieces to eat it with. I ate tapenade (also good) with my fork. The French Onion soup was pretty close to burnt dishwater with a surprisingly bland base, small strip of cheese, and what looked like a snippet of crumbly pumpernickel as the crouton. The hamburger was medium rare (good). The mussels were in a tomato broth and pretty good. The veggie pasta was zucchini noodles not pasta pasta and looked good. My friends enjoyed it. My half chicken was fried and normally comes covered in gravy. It was like a pot roast veggie collection around it: chunks of carrots and potatoes. Half of it was moist and tender and the other half was very dry. I had great fresh lemonade. The service started off great and then disappeared for a while. Everyone was nice but it was weird that it was so good and then we sat with an abundance of food plates and empty drink glasses for about 10 minutes. The check took a while as well. So basically get the burger, skip the chicken and soup.

I have really enjoyed Empire over the years, and maybe yesterday was just a bad day, but everything seems to have gone downhill. From slow service to food quality.

Service was slow, although you could see the servers working hard. Took about 20 minutes to get served very poor cocktails. Balance wasn’t there and they were heavy handed on the spirits. Ordered the steak frites medium rare and came out nearly blue rare 🙁 Couldn’t eat anything but the freezer fries they’re served on. Also have a 4% living wage for staff automatically added on, which I will pay, but would rather have the restaurant pay their workers what they need as a “living wage”

The Empire is my absolute favorite place to eat. I only have the chance to swing in here every couple of years on my visits to Colorado but I always make the trip and they never disappoint! This year was no exception, amazing food in a wonderful atmosphere. I will always make this a destination in my Colorado travels!

Terrible service. After being seated and then waiting 10 minutes without water or any interaction, we had to ask for our waitress. She tried to blame the problem on someone else. She rarely stopped by, and acted like we were in her way. She knocked over my husband’s water glass, then took it away and never replaced it so he didn’t have water for the rest of his meal. I had to clean up the spilled water with my own napkin. She asked if I wanted to add chicken to my risotto but failed to mention it was an additional $7. For very little chicken! The food was all right but not worth the high prices. And definitely not worth the bad service experience.
