The food was great overall! The salad dressing stood out—very good and clearly homemade. The dessert with caramelized bacon wasn’t quite to my taste, but my son really enjoyed it. My husband absolutely loved the fish and chips, especially the tartar sauce.

What truly made the experience special was the service. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They really make this place a wonderful one!

Husband came for the fish and chips and he was very happy with the meal. I had the beet salad and asked for no cheese to make it vegan, it was excellent. We also enjoyed the on tap brew, hubby had the Jeremiah Johnson Scotch Ale and I had Grain Belt Lager, also excellent. Service was outstanding, thank you Jason for your attentive and friendly manner.

Very comfortable place to take a break from the heat and the tourist mobs and to enjoy some tasty pub grub and outstanding craft beer. The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and fast, and there is ample seating outside on a shaded patio and inside at the dining room or at the bar. The craft beers are on tap from Black Tooth Brewing.

The parking on the street in front of the restaurant is usually full, but it is easy to find a spot elsewhere within less than a block’s walk to the place.

Had a 40 minute wait for a table (not that there was much open in town) but it was well worth it. Staff were super friendly and the menu was reasonably priced. Extensive selection of beers and great vegetarian alternatives. Will be back!

Nice place! Offers inside and outside seating. Food was extremely fresh and hot. We got the Fish & Chips (comes with an amazing tartar sauce) and the Chicken Tenders with Potato Smashers. Very hefty serving sizes and well worth the money. Menu was not as big as I had hoped for, but it definitely made the decisions easier. Service was very attentive.

Food was ok. Definitely wouldn’t recommend the fish n chips. No chips. And the fish was The smashed potatoes had no flavor. Chicken strips were good. Friendly staff and excellent service!!!

A tasty surprise in Custer—don’t skip the smashed potatoes
What a great lunch stop! I had the smoked trout BLT, and wow—if cold-smoked salmon and magic had a baby, this would be it. Seriously, try it.

My fiancée had the burger, which hit all the right notes, but the real MVP? The smashed potatoes. Golden, crispy perfection. If you skip them, you’ve made a terrible life choice.

Service was on the slower side, but they seemed slammed, and let’s be real—this place probably deals with a rotating cast of hangry tourists all day. Props to the staff for holding it together.

Bottom line: amazing food, a little patience required, but totally worth the stop.

Everything about The Custer Wolf was amazing. We had the fried green beans as a starter and they were light and crisp with a very good dipping sauces. For the main courses, I had the salmon and my wife had the flatbread taco, which was the special of the day. Finally, we split a chocolate mousse and it was fantastic.

We’re from Ohio and we really wish someday to return. It was a great stop!

Friendly. Delicious smoked trout BLT. Went extremely well with the Josh Chardonnay (Napa). The Moose Drool brown ale was new to me, but tasted good and cold
