The steak was delicious and so was the salad. Service was exceptional and the owner even came to our table and thanked us for coming to the Country Squire to celebrate. We have always enjoyed dinner since our first date back in 2005 and we’ll be back for some more of the great Southern hospitality!

I enjoyed the tour that Ms. Iris herself gave us of the property. Food and staff was 100% excellent. Wife and I really enjoyed dinner here. Great place to visit, as it holds a lot of history and is an extremely unique place in the “middle of nowhere.” Neat gift shop, wine tastings, nick-nacks and such if you’re into that sort of thing. We will definitely be coming back!

Been coming here for a number of years. I’ve the last two or three years the quality of the food has dropped. The atmosphere and the servers are excellent and the folks in the gift shop/wine tasting are wonderful as well. We brought a couple of first time visitors with us on this trip. The experience was good, but not as great as it has been in years past.

The Squires pub cheese and Scottish shortbread cookies are as good as ever.

I always order the Korean BBQ Beef with a baked potato. On my last two visits, the food has been barely warm when it gets to the table. The plate it’s served on is hot. The beef pieces have been over cooked and are very tough. The baked potato has been dry and is just slightly warm, barely warm enough to melt the butter. Their fries have been hard and dry.

Also, apparently the “Ceasar Salad” is no longer made tableside.

Given how busy they are on a typical Saturday night and having a large event taking place on my last visit, the service is a little slow and I understand that and appreciate what the owner and the servers are doing. I just hope the food quality return to what it once was.

Reservations are highly recommended and encouraged.

Food was not exactly as ordered. Side of mushrooms were weirdly tough to chew.
My wife’s medium rare prime rib was significantly thin and over cooked. And there were notified ahead that there were 2 people with birthdays and that was not acknowledged. The wine tour was awesome and we left with 3 wines. But the execution needed a little finesse. I didn’t want to ruin my wife’s birthday night so we left quietly and I don’t think we will return as a result. Her first experience at the restaurant was not what she hoped for. The Bleu cheese butter and pickled vegetables were great!

What a hidden gem. The atmosphere and decor were outstanding. When my wife and I showed up, we were asked if we had reservations. I got worried, but they did accommodate us. The service was amazing, to say the least. The food was cooked to perfection. We definitely will be back. The Prime Rib was great, and the chicken Oscar was also amazing. We did get to sample the smoked turkey, and that just made me want to go back the next day to try a plate.

Also found out when we were there that it is Haunted! It is an awesome place! Pro tip, you can call and get reservations because it can get busy quickly. You must go here!

Cool dining experience and sweet waitress, but food is very subpar. This was our first time here and our last. We ordered the spinach stuffed chicken breast which was very rubbery and hard to chew which I got with a sweet potato,, which was the smallest sweet potato ever; $28 by the way. My husband got the beef tips, which came with 5 tiny bites of steak.. $27. Way overpriced for the quality and amount of food you get. The best part about the whole meal was the side salad. Wouldn’t recommend for the food aspect, but once again a cool dining experience.

The atmosphere was great! Rustic and romantic but it took well over an hour to get our food and the steak was past well done. (Ordered medium) The roll and sweet potato were really good. Service was very slow but our waitress was sweet.

The best part was the wine tasting. The gentleman that was doing the wine tasting was funny and very knowledgeable about the wine. After that we went down to a were we were lead with a dinning room full of people. I ordered the salmon dinner and my husband ordered broiled flounder. The flounder was 28 dollars and it wasn’t broiled it was like it had been pre cooked and the texture was rubbery the salmon was the the fishiest salmon I had ever tasted and very over cooked. The cost of it was 32 dollars. I was so shocked these dishes of meat were very low quality standard for a restaurant that is supposed to be very nice. I wish I could say it ended there but t I went to use the ladies room before we left and I get that the place is old but the bathroom smelled like urine You know when you go to a gas station bathroom and you know the bathroom doesn’t really get cleaned very well and it smells in strong urine. This is what this bathroom was like. It needs a good cleaning it just made the evening worse other than the wine the date with my husband was a bust

The iconic Country Squire. We haved dined hundreds of times & ALWAYS a great experience. The prime rib was rich, beefy flavored, with a generous marbling – as it should be. Desert is always the Squires Delight. Miss Iris & Team are the true heart of the Squire. Thanks y’all!
