I usually post after multiple visits but I appreciated The Country Cat, as I needed a Pre-Security Restaurant to accommodate a little bon voyage breakfast with both travelers and non-travelers.
(There is limited seating, and types for now, fyi and I’m not sure about high chairs at this time if you have little people.)
Our server was friendly, professional and took good care of our orders.
The food came out hot and fresh just like your expect from a excellent neighborhood Diner, and everything was prepared well with fresh, quality ingredient. Every breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed.
I’ll definitely keep this in mind for future visits to PDX, as it’s so handy to have a good dining option before security!

Food was good, priced a little high but that kinda how it works at the airport. I had the aptly named “The country cat” did a great job making my sunny side up eggs, The home fries were yummy and the homeade sausage patty was pretty delicious. Also got the puff half caf cold brew coffee which was very yummy and not very bitter which is good cuz it did not need much sweetener. The only gripe I can say is they didn’t have decaf. But that’s not a deal breaker.

I walked up to the counter to order and once I got my food, I walked into the dining area to sit down and eat, and the owner kicked me out telling me that this is for dine only and there’s a sign. There was no sign and zero customers sitting down I tried to ask her a question and she turned around and just walked in the back and ignored me.

I ordered a sandwich and it was so stale the bread was inedible. I doubt it had been made less than 72hours ago. The service was slow to respond, she didn’t want to be interrupted while chatting.

I visited Country Cat in Portland and had a really disappointing experience. The cashier, Theresa, was rude, unhelpful, and seemed irritated with me from the start. What really bothered me was noticing how differently she treated customers based on race. She was warm and friendly with white customers greeting them with “hi, how are you?” and smiling but acted completely different toward me.
It felt uncomfortable and unfair, and it came across as racially biased behavior. Everyone deserves to be treated equally and respectfully, regardless of race. I hope management looks into this and takes steps to ensure that kind of behavior isn’t accepted

Lovely restaurant with a concise but varied menu of absolutely delicious food. The fried chicken sandwich was my favorite and I was pleased to find that it was a fried chicken thigh instead of the usual chicken breast. Moist and delicious and perfectly fried. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich that had capers which was a unique salty twist that worked so well! Thanks for a great experience!

My wife and I stopped here while waiting for a delayed flight, and we were honestly in a pretty bad mood. Katrina completely turned our experience around. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made all the difference. On top of that, we had the best martini we’ve ever had!! absolutely outstanding. Instead of feeling stressed and frustrated, we left feeling cared for and in much better spirits. Excellent service and a perfect drink can really change your day, and Katrina delivered both.

The best airport food I have ever had! Freshly made, and reasonably priced. Apparently Portland insists the stores are locally owned. What a difference!!!

My flight was delayed, so United gave me two food vouchers for my inconvenience. I chose the country cat because they have vegan option. I placed my order proceeded to the register to pay with my voucher and Ashely very rudely tells we normally want to know if you are paying with a voucher, I was taken back by the tone of her voice. The food was delicious Customer service sucked.
