Australian Gem in Nashville. Just a great place with great food and great people. The staff was super friendly and passionate about the food. The head chef from australia also came out and talked to us, very nice guy and clearly passionate about bringing joy through australian food. Everything was good but I highly recommend the Curry Pie, super tender chicken, crispy puff pastry, and a beautiful mixed spice curry sauce. Very good will be back again.

The Cookery is such a nice restaurant in Nashville! All the food I bought was so good and reasonably priced. I also loved the Australian twist on the food, especially the avocado toast. The server I had was also very kind. I would recommend coming here!

This place was outstanding!! I didn’t take pictures of everything we got because we were so involved in eating the food. Everyone enjoyed every dish! The hash, spinach dip with tons of spinach not just cheese, the chicken wrap with graps, the chicken pot pie. Omg the red velvet cake, idk who is cooking at the Cookery or how I just got here but it’s absolutely out of this world. Can’t wait to take my friends .
And the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Prices and portions are more than reasonable.
Please give this place a try!!

Absolutely loved this place – it feels like a community. We walked by, read a sign that it had the best cinnamon roll, and decided to try it. We ordered nothing else, so can’t speak too much, but gosh that was an amazing cinnamon roll. But while we were there, we noticed a lot of regulars, a lot of families, people sitting down without a menu and ordering their usual, the chef coming in and sitting and catching up with people. Kids sitting on their own on a sofa and playing, a dog hanging out. It just felt…. homey. If I lived here, I would be here at least once a week.

My husband and I went to The Cookery today in search of authentic Australian meat pies. We were NOT disappointed! What a treat!! The Aussie Style Meat Pie and Aussie Sausage Roll were AMAZING and the house made, oven roasted Potato Fries were well seasoned and delicious. Every staff person we encountered was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Such a wonderful FIRST visit (with hopefully many more in the future) to this delightful establishment.

Great place! Cozy, welcoming and even has a sofa for more relaxed conversations with friends. Went to have brunch on 12th Ave but found every place super busy so we hopped further down 12th to this gem. Been wanting to try for sometime but they close at 2 so check hours before going. Menu was more varied than expected, 2 sides of a long paper. I got spinach dip w chips then a Mexican salad. Others got the breakfast wrap and bagel w eggs. Food was delicious. Hard to find a good spin dip and theirs excelled. Everything else also was fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. The Raspberry mochas and Lavender White Mocha were also worth the experience. Service was just right and so kind. Definitely worth a return visit. Also, profits help people who are homeless and in need. Great times, great experience. Thanks!

This is my second time here and both times were amazing! The last time was May 2024 and both visits were wonderful. The food is amazing, and the cinnamon rolls are by far some of the best I’ve had. Lovely variety of options and the service is great. I also enjoyed the blackberry white mocha. The most amazing part is their mission. We hope to visit every trip to Nashville.

We heard about this restaurant at church because of their mission. We went to support that mission. They help the homeless learn to cook and also have meals available for them. That being said we didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was really good! I also got a Latte and it was wonderful. The meat pies are very filling and full of flavor. The cinnamon roll was delicious and it was huge!!!!! Everyone was very friendly! It is a wonderful place. They have a prayer wall for you to leave a prayer and/or take a prayer. You can also pay for meals for people in need. What a wonderful way to give back! We will definitely come back and support this mission!

There are few places where I’ve eaten that have captured both my appetite to return for more and my heart for how this excellent foodie spot also is also giving back to our community in tangible, long-lasting ways. You can read all the details on their website, but the best way to understand is to come, taste, and see! I love good a breakfast and to have breakfast bowl so beautifully presented was an added bonus. Comfortable surroundings for a coffee break, breakfast or lunch with friends, and a fun immersion into genuine Aussie food options. Take home a few cinnamon rolls and Aussie pies for later. AND they cater and/or host events! Side note: I had a flashback to a wonderful book called “Theo of Golden” by Allen Levi as I walked through the hallway to the restroom. The pictures on the wall stole my attention. If you have read Levi’s book, you’ll not want to miss making a stop in this hallway to the restrooms!

Found this gem while looking for something unique to eat near me.
When I saw that it was Australian cuisine we tapped in right away.
Loved the extensive menu items and loved what I chose: Cookery Hash!
My kiddo ordered and enjoyed her Fairytale Toast.
Downsides: parking seems limited and backing out is dangerous as you’re literally backing out into the oncoming traffic.
Since we were dining in, we would appreciate regular plates and utensils instead of disposable plates from the dollar tree. Dining in should be an experience. I received my Latte in a foam to go cup. Would add to the overall dining experience to have had a tea cup etc
Upon arrival (it being our first time), we were told to grab menus so we did at the front but ended up standing there waiting to be seated not knowing we were to seat ourselves until I eventually asked for clarification. Maybe say grab menus and sit anywhere you’d like or something of that nature.
We like the place and will return!
