I have been watching The Chef and the Baker on Instagram for a while and was excited to try their food. It did not disappoint! Definitely an elevated menu with some delicious options. Had the Salmon breakfast sandwich and my wife had the quiche. The star of the show was the banana pudding. Highly recommend

Excellent food and wonderfully friendly owners!! The roommate and I came in for brunch. I got Tank’s Biscuits and Gravy. The biscuits were fresh made and large enough to be well worth the price point and the gravy was a perfect consistency and so savory!! While I don’t regret getting them I think my roommate came out on top. The Nothing Compares Baker’s Cakes is two very large sourdough oatmeal pancakes topped with a gorgeous array of fresh figs, strawberries and blackberries from right here in the mountains. You can taste the passion in the food here as well as really gear up to experience your stay in the mountains by grabbing a taste of them, first thing in the morning!! September, (The Baker) even offered us a sample of her pecan cinnamon rolls which I really wanted to order but was stuffed from my meal. I’ll have to go back and very much look forward to doing so!!

Wow. So worth the drive out from Asheville. We had the Avocado Toast special that had Brussels Sprout shavings, tiny pork cubes, shrimp and who knows what other awesomeness and the Breakfast Banana Pudding which was just cashews and bananas puréed with fresh banana and brown sugar sprinkles on top. SO GOOD! Good coffee too!

I stopped in for breakfast take out on Saturday and I was so pleasantly surprised. Homemade vegan sourdough loaf (which you can purchase as well), avocado toast on the homemade sourdough with pea shoots and a tiny drizzle of balsamic and a side of vegan sweet potato hash with arugula . I thought I would have leftovers for the next day… wrong. I devoured it all and it was delicious. I was impressed by their knowledge of other diets and thrilled that they decided to set up a farm to table cafe in town . Forgot to mention I also got the vegan raw salted caramel chocolates which where out of this world melt in your mouth next level. I will be a frequent customer! ❤️

OMG!! This food is AMAZING! If your not a local (like myself) you will definitely underestimate this place. But give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Everything was so fresh and did not taste store brought or from some wholesale food warehouse. In season only foods

Update: the bagels are delicious. I froze mine and I found the best way to enjoy them is to let them come to room temperature, toast them in the toaster, and then slather then with cream cheese! I like that they aren’t too salty–some bagels are way too salty. They are DENSE, which is how I like my bagels. These things are heavy in the bag. I feel I have really eaten something when I consume an entire bagel! Love.

We stopped by for breakfast on our last day in Maggie Valley. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I’m gluten free so I got the scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes and subbed fruit for the toast. It was all cooked to perfection and didn’t make me feel like I was missing out on the baked goods. My husband had the biscuits and gravy, which he loved, and he’s pretty picky about biscuits and gravy. My daughter ordered the stuffed blueberry French toast with candied bacon which looked like something from a gourmet restaurant. We were so impressed with the ambiance and service as well. Overall a wonderful experience and we all decided it was our favorite meal of our over week long vacation.

I think this is the most amazing medley of flavors ever introduced to old standbys and the new order of farm to table foods and dishes alike!!!! The proper layering of flavors in a dish is what makes your palate dance and dance, dance, dance it does!!!! Best of all they offer all a delightful experience for the food adventurers to the safe eats fellow. The food is smart, delicious and memorable into your next week. With so many events in our lives today being uneventful and less than stellar the memory fades rapidly. This is not the case of your experience at the “Chef & the Baker”. I would highly recommend at check out time to purchase some bake goods so that you may enjoy sone tasty bites and be reminded that the artisans of food now reside amongst us here in Maggie Valley!!!! Welcome to the valley!!!
