After NOT coming to this location for a couple years after they changed the bread I returned. I wasn’t disappointed. I got the King of Philly Cheese Steak and added Chicken well done. It was so delicious. I really enjoyed my sandwich and can’t wait to return. Thanks Cheese Steak Shop.

The ladies are AWESOME . The king of Philly. OMG SUPER DELICIOUS!!! This place blew away all cheese steak shops. Hands down. All bay area cheese steaks new sheriff in town. Try it yourself castro valley, Oakland, SF, Walnut Creek. Can’t touch this. Soft bread fresh the steak marinated steak fries super yum.
Pinole has the best cheese steak! Remember fresh bread marinated steak. King of Philly was on hit. Don’t forget tip your makers.

I ordered the King of Philly combo for $26 with curly fries, and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The sandwich is way smaller than it used to be—definitely not what you’d expect for something called “The King.” On top of that, the peppers came on the side instead of in the sandwich, which threw off the whole flavor and experience. For the price, I expected something more filling and put together. Not worth it this time.

Pretty good sandwiches. Curly fries are okay. I recently tried the steak fries to change it up but I had to spit it out because it tasted like mold. I would still rate 5/5 because that’s the only issue I ever had over the few years I’ve been coming here.
