Came on a slower evening since it was a Thursday night and holiday break time but nonetheless the service was impeccable. This was one of my favorite dinners I had in 2025, the presentation, attention to detail, unique ingredients and service was top notch. I hope more people choose to dine here as they have an incredible $55 three course dinner meal. I ordered the scallops and my friend ordered the wagyu steak, both cooked to perfection

The food at The Carillon is consistently good, but what truly sets this place apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member is genuinely friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Their dedication to making guests feel welcome and cared for is remarkable. I’m always grateful for their efforts!

My coworkers and I have gone to The Carillon numerous times over the years for client meetings and staff lunches. They have a wonderful lunch buffet that I highly recommend for groups. On this visit, there were seven of us and they put us in a private dining room.

Jackie was our waitress and was very nice and attentive. Since we were there for the lunch buffet, after she took our drink orders, we were free to go to the buffet to dish up. I ordered an unsweet iced tea. Their ice tea is very good.

The lunch buffet is split into several stations with plenty of room to navigate between them: salad, soup, bread, charcuterie, entrees, sides, and desserts. The lunch buffet is on a rotating menu and I believe there’s a way to see what’s available on any particular day online.

To start, I got a baby kale and arugula salad that came with mandarins, berries, pickled onions, and topped with strawberry vinaigrette- delicious! There’s also an option to build your own salad and I’ve done that in the past. I also got their creamy spring onion and potato soup with a roll on the side to dip into it. It was a tough choice between this soup and the other option this day, a coconut chicken soup. Though, I think I made the right choice as the creamy spring onion and potato soup was so cozy, I could have taken a nap afterwards! I also grabbed a few pieces of prosciutto as well. On my next trip, I sampled all of the available entrees which included flank steak, seared swordfish, and tomato basil tofu with roasted corn relish. For sides, I grabbed the roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon and ratatouille. All very delicious! For dessert, I tried two of the three available desserts, peach mousse tart with strawberry crumble (wasn’t for me, a little too artificial tasting in my opinion) and a pineapple vanilla cake with whip cream which was divine!

Between the privacy of a private dining room coupled with an excellent array of food options, The Carillon is always a treat to patron. I have also dined at tables that aren’t in a private room and they are a great option as well. The entire restaurant is very beautiful and well decorated. The entrance area near the stairs is a great spot for photo opportunities as well with the UT Austin seal etched into the marble wall in the background. All in all, whether you work at UT or not, The Carillon is a fantastic dining location in Austin.

Overall a nice meal. Attentive service, reasonable prices (they had a special that covered a starter, main and desert for $55).

My Chilean sea bass was very good.

It was strangely almost deserted on a Friday night at 6:30p.

EXTRAORDINARY. They care so much about the food and service here. The price is extremely reasonable for such high quality. A lovely, polished environment. The details of the room and decor are wonderful. The open kitchen is a calm treat, offering upscale skill, but never distraction or chaos. Every element of this experience was above and beyond. The Rosewood Steak was unbelievably well prepared and presented. Texture, flavor, creative presentation, luxury service. Nothing is lacking here. Outstanding in every way.

Very classy restaurant. The buffet is a phenomenal bang for your buck, with a variety of high quality dining options available. Particularly, I found the charcuterie board to be a great touch! I would recommend getting there at the top of the lunch period – while they do replenish items, after a certain point, if they’re out, they’re out (which makes sense given a limited lunch period and a restaurant focusing on eliminating food waste). There is something for everyone, and other than some dry brisket, I heard nothing but compliments from the rest of my party. Highly recommend!

We had the squash tamale, New York strip, and butterscotch pudding. As well as wine service. All were excellent! Comfortable ambience, friendly service, and great location on the edge of the UT Austin campus along MLK.

By far the best meal we had during our week in Austin, and we discovered the restaurant by fluke. The food was astounding, the service was top quality and the atmosphere was quiet. We happened to be there on a night where you could order an appetizer, main and dessert for $55. That’s an unbeatable deal for the quality of the food we received. I started with a sweet potato soup, which was the best I’ve ever had, followed by a scallop dinner and cake dessert that had edible flowers incorporated into it. My buddies had the steak and they said it was the best steak of the week. I had to compliment the chef after that meal and did so. Highly recommend and would def eat here again.

Emma, our waitress, and the entire Carillon team were amazing. My wife and I consider this restaurant a true hidden gem. They’ve consistently exceeded our expectations since we first discovered it in 2018. We love the wine, the cheese, and the full courses. There’s a mix of artistry and chemistry in each dish. They are beautiful and they taste magnificent. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Wow, this may have been the best meal I’ve ever had! The staff was incredible and personable with flowers on our table for my birthday and the food was beyond. The culinary staff here deserve a ton of recognition and if you haven’t been here or are on the fence, go! You absolutely won’t regret it. From the cheese and meat board to the hamachi starter and then the NY Strip and Texas lamb shank… I could go on for days!!! Kudos to this team!!! I’ll be dreaming of this meal forever!
