The service is incredibly welcoming! The food was damn good Texas BBQ and you get free cake(which we were given a second portion of) after asking to purchase some. Can’t beat the Home vibe you get from this place.

My wife and I made a quick trip to Abilene last week. We decided to eat at a place we haven’t prior. We decided on BAR-B-QUE but with the condition that it is on our way home. My wife read a couple of reviews and chose Bar-B-Que Barn in Buffalo Gap, Texas. Great little town!! Great BAR-B-QUE!!!! The brisket is very tender, moist and the sauce is slightly tangy and just compliments the brisket, beans and potato salad!!! We loved it. My wife’s Chopped beef sandwich was so moist and tender that it just crumbled so delightfully in her mouth!! Also, the sausage was very tender and great taste!!! The atmosphere is small home-town-Texas rustic with multiple original traditional memorabilia: All kinds of hats, both military and general businesses, with the dates and small messages of who’s who and territorial allegiances. Multiple news headlines of local, state and US events and history. WE ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO MAKE TIME TO SPEND MORE TIME IN BUFFALO GAP AND EAT AT BAR-B-QUE BARN!!!!

I came here with couple of co-workers. When I walked in I had a cup of water and was told I couldn’t have it so I had to take it back to the vehicle. Not a problem.

Friendly service! I ordered food for 10 people today and it was ready within 20 minutes. We always enjoy stopping in here when we are in town!

We had pulled pork sandwiches with chips. The meat was very moist and tender. There’s a small dining area with a tap room thru the swinging doors. The service is 5 star, polite, and quick. I’m glad we came.

An out of the way old fashioned Texas hole in the wall bar & grill. It’s been there forever and I love the place. I saw a single 1 star review on here for this place. Just consider the source of that review.

Excellent spot to grab great BBQ and beer, especially after you’ve been trekking through the Abilene State Park. Service and the BBQ itself is fantastic.

My wife and I went there last year based on a recommendation from my brother, who was stationed in Abilene in the 1990s. My wife and I LOVE barbecue, so we left VERY disappointed. The brisket looked and tasted like it had been baked in an oven and came smothered in sauce. The sausage seemed like it was store bought. The lady who served us was very nice, but she seemed a bit embarrassed to bring out our food. It felt like their business wasn’t doing well and they were forced to serve warmed up leftovers. Maybe our timing was off, since we got there in mid-afternoon, but that’s no excuse to sell bad barbecue. To their credit, it was a neat looking place with a lot of character. I imagine their drinks are better than their food. It’s a shame, too, because I really wanted to like the place.

We stopped in on our way to Lubbock. The staff are the best and the brisket sandwiches were awesome! I asked for a little fat on mine and it was perfect. They even noticed we had a dog and gave him a little taste of the brisket (he loved it too). I will be back again.
