Kicked the day off at the Baker. Wasn’t sure what I wanted, so went with a breakfast sandwich on a Asiago bagel with Swiss cheese, bacon and a side of Sriracha sauce. Thought it was pretty good and could have ended there. Also got a bacon quiche and the bread pudding. Both were also very good. For breakfast, I’d stick to the sandwich or quiche. The bread pudding is closer to a snack. It’s sweet, salty and covered in chocolate chips. Bring a Quarter to feed the meter.

Cute spot with a well rounded menu. I got the smoked salmon bagel, an “Oreo” cookie, and a taro lavender latte with oatmilk. All were pretty good. Only slightly negative comment is on the bagel. The bagel itself was overpowering the flavor of anything else. The whipped cream cheese was totally washed out by it. The secondary flavor was the pickled red onions. Although one of my favorite things, it was the only other thing I could taste besides the bagel. Bummer. Service was awesome. My bagel was taking a minute. Two employees noticed and jumped on the person making it to get it out next. I’d come back! Check it out yourself!

If you love pastries and baked goods, look no further. If you can’t tell from the picture, my wife couldn’t wait until after I took a picture before she dug into the box. Definitely try it if you have never been.

Creative menu! I like trying new dishes and that’s the fun for me when eating out. The food was prepared quickly, which is especially important if you’re short on time . The food was very tasty plus, you can see right into their clean cooking area. The only downside is that the bathroom isn’t conveniently located.

Visiting the area from the north shore MA. Had coffee and two pastries. They were great so came back at 1:00 pm to grab lunch. Had the special. That too was great. A roast beef but with unique twists. Loved it. So what do you do when you’re leaving and will not be back? Bought four more pastries to bring home.

Our morning was going to end up at another bakery that turned out to be closed. A redirection of our morning turned out to be the biggest delight. The Baker stands out with their door greeter, Victor, setting the tone of the experience. Friendly staff like the cashier Joey and the kitchen crew make the energy infectious as other patrons start to converse and laugh, the positive effort is palpable. With the homemade baked goods, delicious drinks and unique options, there is not a bad thing to say about this place. Will definitely return.

I can’t recommend The Baker enough. Every single week I look forward to Wednesday – Sunday. I will find any excuse to end up there. The Avocado Toast? Best around. Breakfast sandwiches? I have never had one like theirs. Pastries? Perfection. The Chicken Pot Pie? Amazing. Don’t even get me started on the Honey Peach Mango Iced Tea Every time I have walked into The Baker I am greeted like I’m a long time friend – you don’t find customer service like that at many places, especially around here. They produce quality food every single time. I have never left there disappointed! I’m only disappointed when I didn’t buy extras If you want quality, this is your go to. I’d rather wait 25 minutes for a quality egg sandwich made with love than get something thrown together at another establishment that is basically the same price and produces, well, not so great food. Don’t let The few bad reviews get to you! (Easier said than done, I know!) You know what you bring to the table, and some people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. Keep being perfect and I’ll see you tomorrow!

I’ve been going to The Baker since I moved to New Bedford in 2019. It’s one of my favorite places to pick up a treat for me and my husband. I’ve never had a bad experience there. All the staff are kind and some even know me by name (even when I’m wearing a mask)! I always look forward to seeing what they have because the staff and owner always create delicious food. It’s a shame that there are people who are so used to fast food turnaround that they can’t wait more than 15 minutes for food that is always made in-house and made to order. More for everyone else who has come to love and appreciate the hard work of the people who have built up this amazing European bakery then ‍♀️❤️ Also attaching photos of some of the goodies that we’ve had the chance to try and share with our loved ones who absolutely enjoyed each treat over the last couple of years.
