Authentic South Indian Flavors You Can Always Count On!

Amaravati has become our go-to Indian restaurant in Greenville, and honestly, it has never disappointed us. Whether dining à la carte or enjoying their buffet, the food is consistently flavorful, authentic, and comforting- just like home.

We’ve tried a wide variety of dishes here over multiple visits, and every single one has been excellent:

Chole Bhature – Perfectly spiced chole with soft yet crisp bhature. Rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying. One of the best we’ve had outside India.

Dosas (next-level amazing!)
• Mysore Masala Dosa – Crispy, golden, with that signature spicy Mysore chutney layer that adds a beautiful kick.
• Paneer Tikka Dosa – A unique and delicious fusion; smoky paneer tikka filling wrapped in a perfectly crisp dosa.
• Paneer Dosa & Egg Dosa – Generous fillings, well-seasoned, and cooked just right.
• Pesarattu – Authentic and flavorful, paired wonderfully with chutneys—true Andhra-style comfort food.

Veg Korma – Creamy, mildly spiced, and packed with vegetables. Balanced flavors without being overly sweet or heavy.

Buffet – We’ve had their buffet several times, and it’s always fresh, well-managed, and full of variety. Great representation of South Indian and North Indian dishes, with consistent quality every time.

✨ What really stands out is the consistency- the taste, freshness, spice levels, and presentation are spot on every visit. The chutneys and sambar deserve a special mention: fresh, fragrant, and clearly made with care.

If you’re craving authentic South Indian food, excellent vegetarian options, or just a reliable Indian meal that never lets you down, Amaravati is a must-visit in Greenville.

Highly recommend-once you start coming here, you’ll keep coming back!

Amaravati, undoubtedly, provides the best quality of Indian dishes in Greenville-Spartanburg area. We took their Spicy Chicken Lollipop, Mutton Rogan Josh, Goat Biriyani, and Mysore Masala Dosa. All of them were top notch and highly recommended, except the Rogan Josh. Rogan was just okay.
However, their service is not upto the mark. I felt they rushed while taking orders.

Best Indian restaurant in Greenville so far! We’ve been to 5 or 6 Indian restaurants and this one goes the way ahead of all of them! Delicious food, spice is great, flavors are outstanding. Highly recommend!

A fantastic dining experience! While their dosa is delicious, I absolutely loved their Chicken Lollipop, which pairs perfectly with the Cheese Naan. The Mutton Biryani was the star so incredibly flavorful and rich. To top it all off, the servers were exceptionally kind and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I was so engrossed in how delicious the food was that I forgot to take a decent picture until I had packed up my leftovers. Run, do not walk, to get dinner here. The menu is large, prices are reasonable, staff is kind, and the food is absolutely delicious.

Ignore the fools on here. Ya boy Khiem is gonna give you the DL. One, they do a buffet here, but only on Saturday and Sunday. The buffet is legit. They offer salad, vegetarian dishes, meat, chai, lassi, desserts and dosa. The tables were crisp and the service was attentive. There’s QC issues in cleaning their plates fully clean but most of them are clean.

The buffet line starts with vegetarian dishes and they’re all legit. The paneer is probably the best in all of the buffets in Gvegas. Nice, thick, and soft. I would honestly go back just for that. They do veggie stir fry here which no other buffet really does. The naan is superb for buffet naan. All their meat is halal! For some reason, their chicken tikka is called chicken kebab and their labeled chicken tikka is chicken tikka wings. Fire either way. Their lamb and legit but pungently lamby. As part of the buffet, they offer dosa. Use the peanut chutney with it. Don’t be a bozo like me who missed the dessert section of the buffet. And the lassi and chai.

We tried The Amaravati restaurant for the first time yesterday. It was Sunday during the lunchtime buffet and they were very busy. The food was very flavorful and varied; they are not afraid of spice! I enjoyed almost all of the vegetarian and chicken options. The mango lassi was tasty – for an extra charge. On the downside, many of the dishes were empty (or close to it) and stayed that way. Keeping on top of refilling the favorites is especially important with a full dining room. The atmosphere could use an upgrade because it seemed dated. It was noisy with lots of kids. For me, the tasty food made up for these downsides.
The buffet is available at lunchtime on Saturday and Sunday and possibly on Thursday evening too.

Its the best restaurant for South Indian food hands down. I’ve visited plenty of South Indian restaurants but this restaurant beats each one of them. The weekend buffet is truly unique with North and South Indian preparations. The menu changes every weekend. What I enjoy the most is the authenticity in the recipes. You can sense each spice and every flavor in the dish and there are no nonsensical substitutions done like most restaurants. The dishes are as just what you’d expect in India. Cleanliness is important to me and this restaurant meets that criteria very well. Try this restaurant. I highly recommend it.

My momma and I had the dinner buffet and everything we had was so very tasteful, bright, refreshing and enticing. The mint lemonade was spot-on, soothing the oils of the food so you could somehow eat more! Which is, of course, what you always wanted to do. The servers were friendly, the price was manageable, and I look forward to hearing about more of their made-to-order delecasies. The music was fun and we got some groceries at the Indian market nearby. So good!
