Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is Irish pub and restaurant. This was our first time here. The food was excellent, and the prices for food and drinks were very reasonable. The memu is quite varied, and is not limited to Irish dishes. They also had a good number of specials. I had the Branzino – Mediterranean Sea Bass with sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and black olives over mashed potatoes with a superior and unique citrus wine sauce – excellent! The wife had the Beef Stew, and it had a wonderful unique flavor. The portion was on the small side, however. They offer a limited, but well chosen, draught beer list. The bar is large with plenty of screens for sports, separated from the dining room by a large glass wall. We’ll definitely come back!

I love coming here! I do have a few recommendations though. The chairs in the dining room area, are super wobbly and worn out. They were a bit uncomfortable feeling they would break at any moment.
We ordered the Rueben, and for being an Irish pub the corned beef was cut incorrectly. It was super tough. We didn’t end up eating any of it.
I love the location, vibe, friendliness of the staff. But I do wish the corned beef was cut properly. It was with the grain and not against it. Please invest in fixing the chairs in the dining room. Not 1 chair that didn’t wobble back and fourth.

i’ve never once had a bad meal here! came in for lunch with some friends because i recommended it to them and everyone enjoyed their meal. we all took leftovers home because we wanted to have more the next day! i got the caprese chicken and it came with veggies and potatoes…AMAZING. best thing on the menu. my friends ordered a vegetable burger, the lemon sole, and some flatbreads. the drinks weren’t as strong as we’d like them to be, but maybe that’s a good thing, considering it was only lunch. when i come back another time for dinner don’t be shy with the liquor!

I recently had lunch at The Abbey restaurant, and overall, it was a decent experience. One of the highlights was the fantastic background music that added to the ambiance. The restaurant’s interior is quite spacious and wheelchair accessible, which is always a plus. The service was prompt and friendly, making us feel welcome.
The parking lot was easy to navigate and had plenty of space, which made parking hassle-free. Additionally, the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort of the visit.
For my meal, I ordered sautéed vegetables and fish. While the vegetables were delicious and cooked to perfection, I found the fish to be a bit lacking in flavor—it was somewhat tasteless and could have used more seasoning, particularly salt. On a scale of 5, I would rate the fish a 4 due to this issue.
In summary, The Abbey restaurant is a good option for a meal, especially if you’re looking for a spacious and accessible venue with good music and service. However, there might be room for improvement in certain dishes to elevate the dining experience further.

First time here while visiting and will be the last time. Calamari appetizer, fish and chips, chicken pot pie, chicken Caesar salad with side of Mac n Cheese, Steak sandwich with coleslaw. Calamari was cold and tasted like it was frozen, no seasoning in the batter, very rubbery. Side of Mac n cheese was the worst I’ve ever had, no flavor at all…not even a drop of salt, like nothing! Chicken pot pie had like shredded chicken and was a reddish tint to the sauce, tasted like it had tomato sauce/vinegar mixed in it, not good! Fish and chips was good per family and steak sandwich was ok. I would not recommend this place!

My girls and I stumbled upon this place and OMG!!!! The food is fantastic, everything we ate was super fresh and delish. How did we not know about this place???? My kids are saying it’s their favorite restaurant and now want to come back for their birthday dinner. The atmosphere is perfect and the staff is soooooo friendly. Our waitress Charlie was excellent, personality on point, I wanna throw her in the take home bag as well hahaha. We had to ask to speak to the manager to tell them how much we love it and he comped our desert! 5 stars all the way!!!! Can we move here so it’s closer lol. Thank you guys

We stopped in for dinner for the first time and we will be back! The food was super good, nice Guinness, great service, and clean! A woman must run this place because there was a space heater in the bathroom on a cold winter night. Pro moves all around! Wonderful find! Family friendly too!

My wife and I have wanted to try here for many months now. Wish we didn’t waste time. It was fantastic. We went here for the Sunday brunch special. You get a starter, entrée, and dessert. You can also do bottomless alcohol choice of mimosa, screw driver, or Bloody Mary for a small additional fee. Lots of parking in the lot. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. They consistently checked in on us which was very nice considering how busy they were. Multiple TVs which had different football games when we were there. We didn’t sit at the bar area, but it looked fun. Lots of great decor and a great atmosphere inside.
As usual, we got to items and shared. I ordered a steak sandwich with fries. She got the brunch special which consisted of steak fritti, stuffed potatoes, and a piece of red velvet cake. The stuffed potatoes were good. Creamy on the top, bacon and cheese in the middle. The steak sandwich was amazing. I asked for it medium rare. They cooked it exactly how I wanted. It was so tender I couldn’t believe it. The fries were a great side. To complement my steak sandwich, I had some steak fritti. Cooked perfectly and definitely worth the money. The eggs went along nicely with it. The Red velvet cake was good, but not great. The frosting and cream delicious, but the cake was a little dry. Considering how the rest of the meal was, didn’t bother me. Looking forward to going back for Sunday brunch soon. Five stars!

Surprising quality and comfort for a ‘strip mall’ restaurant. Friendly, efficient waitstaff. Spacious and neighborly, with nice Irish decorations featuring intricate Celtic knot-work. Bathrooms clean and there is fast wi-fi. Parking ample out front. Prices very affordable. About eight beers on draft, and several others in bottles. Small selection of desserts but all very tasty. The Litchfield County Libertarian Party regularly meets here on the month’s final Sunday, in the afternoons.
