We offer a variety of tavern and pub style food offerings using only the finest ingredients of New England. We pride ourselves on working with a number of local produce vendors to offer only the best and freshest food around. We offer a variety of menus, depending on the day and time. Lunch is available from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Our dinner menu is available from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. We also offer a Happy Hour from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Happy Hour is only available in the bar area and on the patio.

We made a reservation for our son’s graduation dinner not only to celebrate his accomplishment, but to try out the food before deciding if the location and food would be considered for his upcoming nuptial’s rehearsal dinner. They nailed it! Our reservation was for 5:30p and we were done with desert and paid our bill by 7pm. We were seated promptly and the courses were served within reasonable time. Service was excellent. Patricia, our server, was very helpful, efficient and professional. The menu choices included selections for our vegan, picky, and meat & potato lovers. The food was fresh and every plate was great. We decided right then and there to talk to the manager and make arrangements to hold the rehearsal dinner for 30 people at this rustic venue. I would absolutely recommend 1850 House in Southbury.

An overall pleasant experience for myself and my wife. The atmosphere is calm, our server Kim was excellent – was happy to tip 22% for her work. I only dock a star because the portions were small. We got the marinated steak tips and the chicken milanese for about the same price you’d get it elsewhere, but we were finished and discussing what fast food to pick up on the way back home. That said, the food itself was great, just wish we got more of it for the price.

What a beautiful place! Straight from when we walked in, friendly staff greeted us and brought us to an outdoor table. Our waitress was so kind and treated us well. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. This place is a gem, would highly recommend and would love to come back in then cozy winter months!

Horrible dinner. Ordered flank steak but not really sure what cut of meat it really was. So tough a steak knife didn’t help. Dry baked potato with no butter or sour cream offered and supposedly roasted veg, but tasted steamed. AND……..The restaurant needs to train their waitresses how to actually wait properly, had to ask for everything.

I ordered a salmon dish, it was pan seared and was supposed to be medium. Unfortunately it was raw inside and smelled quite fishy. Another member of the group had a salad with avacado that was so hard you hammer nails with it. The servers were very gracious but this does not make up for complete failure in the kitchen. It was also a clear sign that we were the only diners on a warm Thursday night in April. There were people at the bar but no other diners.

I ordered a cup of soup with half sandwich. Both were cold. The sandwich was a BLT. 1 piece of bacon. I will try happy hour and see how that goes.

Skip the food as it is mediocre. But DO stop by for drinks and an amazing view!!! Grab a cocktail and head outside! Perfect for before dinner drinks! And the place is never busy so table with a view is guaranteed!
