Tai Town Cafe is a revelation for anyone who loves bold, flavorful food. Located in Rapid City and Geneseo, Illinois, this Tai spot turned my view of Tai cuisine on its head. I’m a Midwesterner who craves spice, and I found their dishes to deliver warmth, depth, and balance in every bite. The flavors are bright and distinct, with each component playing its part without overpowering the others. The hospitality matches the food—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. If you’re anywhere near the Quad Cities, do yourself a favor and give Tai Town Cafe a try in Rapid City or Geneseo. It’s a game changer, and you’ll be glad you did.

Overall it was a disappointing experience I had yesterday, the service was slow, never seen the server for most of the time, they never refill the water. I ordered drunken noodle with seafood, waited almost 20 mins finally had the food came out, but the food was with shrimp and chicken. Told server, and told him that I can’t have meat, and he brought it back and said they will make a new one with seafood. Only after 2 mins, another server brought the food out(pic 1), and didn’t say any words, just left. It’s still a wrong order, just had shrimp in the noodle, no other seafood! And it made me really mad was they didn’t even remake it, they just took the big pieces of chicken, I still found so many small pieces of chicken in the dish(pic 2), I can’t eat the noodle at all. We were waiting the server came out to tell her, but she never came back. We had to ring the bell, and told her it’s still wrong, and since we already been there for about 1 hour, I don’t want to wait it anymore, she said she will take it from the bill. And took the dish away. We were thinking she would come back with bill, but we just sat there forever, so we had to go to the counter to ask bill after another 10 mins waiting. She do take out the drunken noodle but charged 2 dollars for shrimp, which I’m fine about it since these were the only thing I ate.
Considering the service and the ability of fixing issues, we will definitely not go back

Nice little place. Food is great. Great place for Curry. My only complaint is that there is only one server, and service could be a little faster. But they are always quick to respond to requests (extra drink, etc). Everything else makes up for the slightly slow service! It’s small, so make arrangements of you have a larger party. Love that they show all the menu items being prepared on a display above the host stand so you can see exactly what different dishes look like.

Slow, slow, slow. Appetizers, soup and main dish all came out at the same time. Not real happy. Very expensive. 50 dollars for two. Bring cash.

Cute little cafe! Great food and service. Quality ingredients. Definitely homemade! The sauce and food was perfectly prepared! Large portions and very authentic! We will be back. This is a perfect date night experience. We do date days and this one seems to be one of our favorites.

Absolutely divine Tom Kha–I ordered mine extra spicy with seafood because I was having terrible gut distress–and ironically, spicy soup usually fixes that issue up right quick. The heat level was exactly what I wanted (which means everyone else *please* be mindful that this restaurant serves their food authentically spiced), the fish was delicious, the herbs fresh and flavourful, and the broth generous. My husband and Dad both got the wonton soup and were pleased, as well. Though we are from out-of-town several hours away, I will happily travel back here SPECIFICALLY for the soup. Service was kind, prompt, and even offered to make my order spicier if it wasn’t to my taste. I could not recommend this place more highly. ♡

Grand Opening Monday August 8th 2022. What a local gem! Authentic Thai cuisine prepared with care and presentedbeautifully!!! If you love spicy you can certainly get that here if you ask, otherwise great middle ground in herbs and seasonings. Our food was hot and great portion sizes. The dining is outfitted with authentic Thai wood workings. Beautiful lighting in front of the building were imported from Thailand and are a great touch. Hopefully the support is out there for high quality authentic Thai cuisine, I believe it is. Thai Town Cafe should have a long, successful tenure. Well done to the owners and staff at Thai Town Cafe, your pride in doing a great job is showing. KUDOS!!!

Delicious. Absolutely delicious. This is a great little hidden gem. I ordered the Khao Soi (curry noodles) and couldn’t get enough. Plenty of noodles, tender beef and chicken and the chilli paste is lip smacking good. I was the only one dining inside at the time but the employee was very kind and helpful. I also ordered the black pepper garlic stir fry to go and enjoyed it. I highly recommend this place. Looking forward to coming back and trying more.
