Got the chicken Thai basil, which was prepared great came with fresh rice, but could taste no basil in it whatsoever. And the recipe said it was basil sauce with fresh basil. Really disappointing.
Unfortunately, I needed to significantly reduce my rating from my original five stars down to only two stars. When we arrived at 5:00 there was only one other table seated and one person waiting for takeout, yet it took almost 5 minutes for somebody to come out to seat us. The food quality was hit and miss, which was very disappointing. The fresh spring rolls and the Dac Biet we’re delicious, but the Pad Thai was flavorless and drenched in a thick orange sauce that looked like tomato sauce and contained NO peanuts or bean sprouts which is how Pad Thai is typically served at Thai restaurants…very disappointing. The Lard Nahh looked good, but the gravy had way too much cornstarch so it had an overly slimy mouth feel, and it also was flavorless, but the biggest disappointment of that dish was that the rice noodles were so overcooked that they were basically mush. We also ordered the Stir Fry Sweet and Sour but what came out instead was General Tao’s Chicken. What is weird is that on the menu one dish is numbered T19A and the other numbered T19B… and we had to order ALL of our ordered dishes by the menu’s numbers, not by dish name, as the waitress didn’t seem to have familiarity with the menu. So when General Tao’s was brought out we told the waitress that was not the one we ordered as we ordered the other one that had the pineapple in it, so the dish was brought back to the kitchen and what was brought back to the table seem to be the exact same dish, but now mixed with some pineapple, carrot, onion and cucumber. In hindsight, I should have been suspicious that two dishes had the exact same menu number but just a different letter attached, and that no other menu items seem to have an A and B version… lesson learned. If you don’t believe my updated review, take a look at the pictures for yourself, especially that of the very weird looking Pad Thai.
