This place is called Thai Cafe 2 now, 11-09-2025. Delicious Thai food! I had their Chicken Pho and it was good, a little salty but not bad. However their Pad See Ew is to die for. Very light seasoning with a hint of sweetness makes it so delicious! Server was amazing. It is a tiny place so in the evening it is not very crowded. Great place to go eat if you’re looking for reasonably priced Thai food.

This was a better Pho experience in the area. The restaurant was clean. Staff super friendly!! Now the food:
1) Food came quick
2) Noodles not overcooked
3) Decent amount of meat
4) Broth was amazing BUT it had this little sweetness to it that I didn’t like

Anyway, I’d definitely recommend this place!

I was just feeling a little bit limited by the selection of food in the area lately when my friend and I finally tried Thai and Lao Cuisine in the ‘old Stater Brothers’ mall. It was so refreshing to experience the flavors of Lao cuisine, with which I am not very familiar. Everything we chose, with the help of our server Anna, was absolutely delicious. A great new addition to the local fare of Yucca Valley, just a few minutes from Joshua Tree and Pioneertown.

We had a delightful lunch/dinner at the Thai Cafe. We ordered a variety of food. Some of our favorites were the steamed dumplings, the chicken satay, and the papaya salad. The beef pho was tasty, but a bit fatty. Our server was sweet and efficient.

Absolutely delicious authentic food! Very clean atmosphere, looks like they are family owned. Mom was serving her daughter and friends while still attending to us and others. Great customer service. Me and my family are moving out here from 3 hours away and this will definitely be our go to spot. We can’t wait to try everything on the menu! Thank you

This Thai place is absolutely scrumptious. I hesitate to leave this review because I want to keep the secret all to myself. I’ve lived here for 7 months and didn’t try it till now bc the reviews were so low, but then a friend told me it’s good, and yes, it is! Hope the high quality remains as everyone starts flocking to them for the best takeout in Yucca. Yum. Yum.

Roaches!!!!! This place is nasty. Went there once and had already finished my meal when I went to the bathroom. It was dark and dingy inside and when I looked up I saw a live roach on the wall. I took a picture of it and showed it to the employee. She said “thank you.” I decided to go back about a month later thinking they would have addressed the problem, nope! First thing I did before ordering was go straight to the bathroom and checked. Found another live roach on the floor under the sink!!! I took another picture, showed it to an employee. She smiled and replied, “ok” like it wasn’t a problem. I packed up and left immediately.

First time visiting the restaurant after the new owner took over. We ordered a carry out including 4 items. Took them over an hour to complete. Once picked up, we drove straight home because the bags were already started to leak through. The orders were poorly packed and not properly assembled. All containers broke and the soup spilled out. The paper containers torn apart. Although it changed the name to Thai and Lao, the menu was very similar to the previous owner.

Tom Yum soup was delicious, they were accommodating to my request for a side of thin pho noodles to accompany my soup. Size medium was perfect for one person. The veggie spring rolls were also tasty, came with 4 rolls and a delicious peanut sauce. My friends got a pad Thai, which they said matched expectations. My Vietnamese coffee was also as expected, and very good!

Some super minor snafus with the service but we were happy.

Thanks for having us!

Food was really good. Service was great. The family who owns this place is lovely. The other customers were all staring at their phones. Pretty ridiculous. Will definitely visit again.
