We got there early and had a couple of filets and a ribeye. The server was new but very attentive and professional. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The rub was was nicely seasoned. Definitely worth a visit. Make sure to make a reservation. The place was packed when we left.

Maybe we visited Texas Club on the wrong night but unfortunately service was slow and food only okay. Would come back to try it again maybe on a less busy night. The chicken fried steak though was a hearty portion for sure.

A long-established local restaurant with good food and good atmosphere. Our waiter Miguel did a great job of making us feel welcome, and our steaks were cooked well and tastefully seasoned. The standout side dish for me was the sauteed mushrooms, with plenty of minced garlic in a white wine sauce. Many of the staff were young and recently trained, but all were working hard.
In a town like Ruidoso, labor is very tight, costs are high, and the customers often come in large, hard-to-handle parties, all packed into high-season rush hour. So five stars in Ruidoso doesn’t mean “perfect”, it means “as good as possible, given the constraints they have to work with”. Folks are all doing their best, so I try to do my part by planning ahead, making reservations, and bringing my best self.

Steaks were great. We got seated right away because we made a reservation. Drinks were strong in the service was immaculate. Highly recommend we will definitely be returning.

The steaks were good, above average but not the best. What really makes this place is the texas toothpicks, the bread, and the waitress Danelle, she was amazing. We just went back and asked for her again, but we were sat in a different area and found out after being seated that we cannot request our servers so we were given someone else. We waited for about 10 or 15 minutes and the waitress never came to our table so we decided to leave.

We subsequently returned on a Sunday, but unfortunately, Denelle was not working. On that occasion, we experienced a 90-minute wait for our meal, which was disappointing.
Two weeks later, my husband and I returned, specifically hoping to be seated in Denelle’s section. Despite our request during the reservation process, we were informed by the manager that specific seating requests are not accommodated. We find this policy concerning, particularly as we then waited 20 minutes without a server attending to our table for a drink order.
We believe this policy demonstrates poor judgment and is unfair to an excellent waitress. We question the rationale behind denying a customer’s request to be served by a particularly attentive individual.

I was visiting my boyfriend in Ruidoso for Valentine’s Day weekend, and Texas Club required reservations. So we make a reservation two weeks in advance. We ordered wine, an appetizer, and our entrees. We then proceeded to wait two hours for our meals after speaking to a food runner and our server twice about the situation. The food runner was very apologetic, but our server gave no explanation as to why the service was slow until we paid. She said the kitchen was backed up. Where was that explanation two hours ago? We left without eating dinner and only paid for drinks and the appetizer. Horrible service. Crappy Valentine’s Day evening. Many other tables waited hours for their meals too. Don’t require reservations if you won’t provide exceptional service to your guests.

Our food (an appetizer for an entree and elk steak) took FOREVER. By the time my ridiculously over cooked, over seasoned elk steak arrived, we didn’t have time to send it back to make our plans afterwards. Everything else was just bland. Our drinks also took forever to get from the bar and they were made wrong.
