We are at the Starved Rock Lodge restaurant 4 times during our stay this past week, including a breakfast, lunch, and 2 dinners. My 3 yr old has food allergies, and the wait staff were phenomenal at helping us check the ingredients and accommodating her with food she could eat. Each one of our waiters and waitresses was kind and helpful. The pot roast and fried chicken were amazing too!

Delicious mushroom Philly and the sweet potato fries were phenomenal. Sitting here with starved rock overlook is an indescribable feeling. Love this place for a relaxing lunch after a long hike !

The food was decent. I had a New York strip and my wife had chicken Alfredo, both were good. Our service was bad. We waited 10 minutes before we saw a host to be seated, then waited another 15 minutes before we even saw our server. If it was busy I might understand but it wasn’t even half capacity. It is nice inside but so are a lot of other restaurants with better service for the same kind of food. We’ll skip this place on our next visit.

Went for dinner Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center last night (Sunday) to eat on the veranda and enjoy the view. It’ll be the last time. They have changed to a limited menu and now you get a $15 cheese burger on a paper plate with a bag of chips with plastic cups(witnessed). They have a build your own burger and chicken sandwich. You get to pick from two additional toppings. Not aure about forks, guessing those are plastic too. Lets serve fly away items outside at a state park. Excellent idea. Anyway, we changed our minds to eat inside to get the full menu. Charged a la cart for something I was supposed to get, but they gave me the wrong thing. The food has been better. We had gotten drinks outside. Refills were put into same plastic cups, not replaced with glassware. I don’t know who is managing the restaurant now, but seriously, do better. As much as I loved eating there, outside, this one is getting crossed off the list. Totally bummed.

After hiking for 2.5 hours this was a great place to hang out and have lunch! They had a wide variety of winter cocktails and an extensive food menu. We shared a couple of appetizers and tried their amber ale. We ate and drank in the lounge area which was super busy for a Saturday afternoon in December. I had the Prancer flies again made with caramel vodka, Baileys and creme de cocoa. The service was laid back and a bit slow but the food came very quickly after we ordered.

Delicious comfort food. The meat was so tender. The use locally grown vegetables. My dish included green beans. So yummy. I want to eat it again in the near future. Great friendly service.

Beautiful lodge. Menu is a bit deceiving; states the ribs are dry rubbed, but they’re sauced. The duck was a small portion for the price. Good service.

I had the turkey burger with cheddar cheese and sweet potato fries for lunch. Everything was great and the fries were some of the best that I’ve had! At breakfast the next day, I had the Eggs Benedict. It could have been better and was lacking some flavor. There were a few small egg shell pieces in my eggs, which was gross.
