This place is much more authentic than most whitewashed Mexican food in Merced, an the fact they don’t serve alcohol keeps all the rowdy people out no crazy loud music like other places either which is nice , not having to yell to communicate, very cozy Bitchin food

We were impressed by the pupusas. They were very tasty. We also ordered some burritos and they were just ok. I didn’t like the fact they had lettuce as I don’t feel that it belongs in a good burrito.

Very good food and service! Patio sitting is better during the summer. Call in advanced and your food will be served faster. I ordered ahead of time and brought the food to eat home.

My first time being here but read about it from a Facebook friend who has been here before. It use to be an Asian restaurant and the kept the chairs from the Asian restaurant and the place itself is a house turned in to a restaurant. I’m really unsure about the place or how long it will be there but I did enjoy the chilaquiles I ordered.

Had hankering for Mexican food and most eateries in proximity had closed early, pleasant surprise on authenticity and robust flavors of the served food. A bit under-staffed, but a charming and colorful joint to get some spicy and delicious grub!

We wanted to give this restaurant a shot being that it’s locally owned and operated and boy were we disappointed. Lost 1 star for not having all the items on the menu available for some reason. I think we ordered like 6 items before we finally chose something that was available. Lost another star for not having any alcoholic beverages. Not sure why the restaurant is named Tequila and there’s no tequila or any alcohol for that matter. Lost another star for the food being beyond subpar. It felt as if they should have paid us to eat there. Lastly, lost another star for not accepting anything except for cash. It would have been nice to know that BEFORE we ordered. We were really about to walk out with a free meal due to not having cash given the pandemic.

If you’re going to have terrible atmosphere and a dirty restaurant with terrible staff at least have good food. Food was terrible staff was terrible. This restaurant has a really bad smell restaurant was completely filthy and the food was not good at all I don’t know how places like this stay open.

I went with my family for the first time, the staff was really really nice, she made us feel comfortable and special. The chilaquiles were DELICIOUS, the torta as well the only thing I think it need to improve is the horchata besides that everything was fantastic. Also the decoration made us feel like if we were in Mexico.
