Been coming here for at least 17 years now! never had a bad experience. Always Great customer service and amazing dishes. I’ve personally sent tones of people here and they were amazed by this little gem in the middle of busy Lower Greenville

After having lived in the neighborhood for several years, it wasn’t until I had moved away before I’d decided to try it! I was super pleased! The sushi is on the pricy side but excellent!

450 dollar omakase for two, nothing special at all. We will not be back. Uchi will destroy this place in every aspect. The only thing that was good was the skewers. The nigiri was sad and no dessert in the end. What a god damn rip off. Had to go across the street for marcoons it was disappointing. Had to wash down the food after.

Honestly 4.5* but there are no half stars.

Everything here was pretty good. I think my favorite thing from the night I went is actually tied between the chicken liver skewer and the sea urchin. The only things that I could have passed on was the cow tounge (tough for what I’m used to) and foie gras (which had something on it that was so sweet it overpowered everything). I think the general consensus from everyone that night was that the place was liked.

Good food but very pricy, sushi prices are per piece (my fault to assume 2 pieces per order as in most sushi restaurants), for example scallop sashimi in the photo costs $48, thin slices. Scallop sushi is $12 per. Great but nothing special. Yakitori set is $30 which gives you 6 skewers, chef’s choice, but everyone at the table has to order a set. Chicken thigh Yakitori (Momo) is under cooked in the middle, when I asked we were told it’s usually served medium, I mean it’s probably just a lack of knowledge on my part but I’ve never had chicken yakitori served less than fully cooked even in Japan, unless it specifically says Chicken Sashimi. The other skewers are fine.

First of all, considering the price, the food is just fine. Eal was good, beef tongue and sweet shrimp was fine but chicken wings are soso.

Authentic yakitori place is hard to find, and we felt lucky coming across Teppo. I have been craving for yaki chicken meatballs for a while too! Anyhow the reason for the borderline three to four stars is because of the non yakitori food was just underwhelming. I can understand why you would try to include many things like sushi or apps just to please the crowd, but they are not your specialty. Also maybe due to the location and such the foot traffic wasn’t great. The lack of energy in the room did make the experience less enjoyable.

I’m a sucker for nice sushi and interesting meats. Menu looked really exciting so I wanted to try this place out.
