Templeton’s Tavern is located inside Container City @ Spider Mountain. We are situated on the south foot of the Spider Mountain Bike Park.

I don’t understand how this place isn’t packed all the time. Staff says “it’s too far” from town for locals (12 minutes). This place was amazing. Atmosphere was really cool and a nice view from the 2nd deck. They converted a container into a double decked bar with outdoor and covered seating, multiple tv’s, and plenty of seating, I saw a stage and definitely need to inquire when the live bands come.
Food: I got the 12 piece wing, 6 lemon pepper and 6 blueberry habanero. The flavor for the sauces were great but the cook tells me first they smoke the wings then deep fry and holy smokes was it amazing. Juicy and smoky with the perfect crisp from the fried.
Their speciality burger was perfection, the caramelized onions, some kind of aoili sauce, the patty was juicy, the bun was soft and flaky, definitely a great combination. I dont know if the fries were store bought or hand made but definitely great, perfect texture and good flavor.
Chicken tenders were awesome. Cook tells me they were handbattered by her. She can definitely cook, the were juicy and crispy and soft with great flavor.
Drinks were good, bartender was sweet and could make a good flavor cocktail.
This will definitely be my go to place anytime im in the area. Can’t ask for more, g9od scene, good views, friendly staff.

Food was pretty good, nothing too special. Service was great and the food came at a reasonable pace! The atmosphere on the other hand, not so good. No matter where you sit, there is extremely loud rock music and flies everywhere. You can’t hear anyone at your table without yelling and you have to constantly wave flies away from your food. Half the seating makes you sit directly in the sun. I can’t say I recommend coming here but there’s not much else in the area.

The fries were okay. The onion rings were burnt and the chicken wings had a weird taste and rubber texture.
I was very excited to try this place based on previous reviews and photos. As we are here for the weekend for our anniversary, I can safely say we will not be back and I would not recommend this place to others.
There was also dog poop all over the eating area – we told the server and no one picked any of it up.
We left and went elsewhere to eat after throwing 95% of our food away. Very costly bottle of water and a few fries.
Update:: we didn’t end up eating anywhere else as our stomachs are hurting. I can’t get this nasty taste out of my mouth and I’m sick.
Update:: I ended up with food poisoning from the wings. It was not a fun experience. I really was looking forward to eating here and enjoying the music.
Not a good time when you have to dodge dog poop in the eating area and end up sick on your anniversary weekend getaway.

This is a great outdoor bar with good food and a great environment. The burgers and wings are really tasty and much improved from the past. If you like the outdoors and a lively vibe you should check it out!

Edit: “I was cut off” but I was there to close my tab and I even was sober enough to add my emailid to get the receipt. And as far as I know the bar was open so technically my tab was valid and active. Yes the amount of alcohol I had was pretty high but if you could serve me with the bill you can almost certainly expect to give me a chance to tip my own rates.

The food was great-Ate there 10/23 and 10/26 while staying in the RV park of Container City. The food and service both times were great-had a grilled chicken sandwich special and chicken tinga tacos on 10/23 and grilled chicken sandwich, Tavern burger fries and onion rings. Beer, drink, queso and chips on 10/26/25. The bartender on 10/26 said it was happy hour all day. My husband ran a tab and paid out. I looked at the receipt the next day and – two different prices for the same beer-one full price and one happy hour price and full price for the chips and queso -advertised at about half price. It’s hard to keep track of the charges when you run a tab – at least we got a receipt. Will definitely go back when we are in the area but will not run a tab.

The best place ever! Highly recommend to everyone – great drinks, food, music and games (make sure you try the only margarita it’s amazing!)

We first went to Templeton’s for a night with Micky & Gary Braun from Micky & the Motorcars. We’ve been going back ever since. Best bar in the area and their food truck has delicious burgers & wings. Cool vibes with attentive staff. I look forward to going here.
