We opted for a Tay ho Banh Cuon set (classic rice crapes, pork and mushroom rolls, ground shrimp rolls, Vietnamese ham, and shrimp & sweet potato fritter), and a lychee lemonade!

This legendary Orange County Vietnamese restaurant has opened its take out branch in San Gabriel. We have been trying to get to this place and we finally had a chance to do so today.

Attended the grand opening of Tay Ho! Rice crepe sheets is one of their specialities and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The packaging is nice and the staff is friendly to make sure everything from ordering to preparing is spot on!

Food was good. Garlic noodles were a bit salty. I do wish the food came hot/warm. Everything was more on the cooler side other than the garlic noodles. I did enjoy the Vietnamese coffee, definitely try that.

Ever since Banh Cuon Tay Ho unexpectedly closed it’s doors a few years, there’s been a hole that couldn’t be replaced by the Banh Cuon from local Pho Ga places or the horrendous dish from Banh Mi Che Cali. This Tay Ho (relation to the previously stated restaurant is unknown to me) is a fast casual style restaurant that presents a more modern take. The Banh Cuon is not as silky as the dedicated sit down restaurants, but has a nice bounce and chew. The side of fried yams lacks a stronger shrimp flavor. One can forget that this restaurant is setup for turning higher volume and speed, so achieving the quality and flavor that they hit is an achievement. Some people are turned off by the price, but that price is applied to the convenience and overall presentation that Tay Ho has switched to. I for one am glad they opened and will be returning.

The to-go box is nicely packaged by Tay Ho. The portion is rather small for one person so sharing it is not possible. I was hoping they would give more for the price they charged.

It is not banh cuon tây hồ. Employees seem no clue when I order food. I spoke both English and Vietnamese they still made my order wrong. I wish they name their bánh cuốn something else instead of Tây Hồ.

I like the food but wish I knew they were take out only. Packed my family in the car for a dine out but ended taking the food home to eat. I was disappointed we couldn’t dine out but the food was as I expected. Yummy.
