Stopped in for a late lunch (3:00 on Saturday). We were told 30 minute wsit, was actually 45. When walking to table, someone clearly spilled something all over the floor and it wasn’t cleaned.

Once seated waitress took drink orders. She came back because she forgot what my husband ordered. We ordered steak & cheese egg rolls. Waitress came back after ten minutes, they were out of egg rolls so we asked for the pretzel instead. We got pretzel, it was fine still no drinks. We were told Bar was backed up. It took about 20 minutes longer to get drinks. I ordered the cherry bomb, I didn’t expect a white claw can in my drink. I wasn’t thrilled by this.

Smash burgers were missing tomatoes that i asked for. Good taste but not exactly as requested. Poke bowl was pretty but priced a bit high.

Overall an okay visit. Fell short in many aspects. Not sure if we would make the trip to return.

Yesterday we had dinner a group of 7 . Was the worst dinner ever .no body like their food . Bread was burned for sandwiches.the nachos were burned too and stuck to the paper underneath. They forgot my soup which I’m glad they did. Cause my sister ordered onion soup it was terrible. Our friend ordered another order which he has to return Cause it was terrible too not cooked the right way. We end up paying 242$ for crappie food. The waitress keep apologizing and said the manager will be out to talk to us . And he never show up.
I will never eat there again or recommend to anybody.

Honestly use to love this place but I highly recommend NOT ordering take out. The quality is awful. Everything comes extremely soggy. One chicken sandwich tasted like fish and the other had paper in it. I’m assuming the paper they use to separate cheese but absolutely unacceptable. I will definitely be avoiding this place in the future.

To the Tavern owner-I’ve already emailed you.

Tavern On The Wharf was a great stop! We were seated right away, no wait at all, and our server Mia was fantastic—super friendly and helpful. The buffalo chicken dip was hot, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The burger was tasty, and I appreciated the gluten-free bun option. The kids’ cheese pizza was unexpectedly large—basically a full pizza, which was a great surprise.

The margarita flight was colorful and tropical, with watermelon, guava, and strawberry flavors. The oysters were smaller than expected for $3 apiece, but still fresh and enjoyable. Overall, we left full and satisfied—for about $80 total. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

A hot buttered roll for $40 was under meat and a little soggy so if you’re thinking of a lobster roll, I would pass the oysters were great. The fried pickles were wonderful and the fried calamari was delicious great atmosphere right downtown they had cornhole in the back. They have enough seating. The Waite staff was overworked so we could not complain, but she was very accommodating.

Worst of dining ever…I wish the manager would have felt properly so that I did not have to say anything. This is a photo of our nachos that we waited an hour an a half for. they were not even properly cooked raw cheese all over the chips but we were so hungry after waiting an hour for an appetizer we had to eat it. The manager did nothing to remedy the situation. We put our whole order in at 6 and did not get food until 7:30. The waiter said the kitchen lost our ticket about 45 minutes after we sat and asked where our food was and we had to repeat the whole order over again. The waiter was clearly confused and under the influence. We had to go get our own utensils and because the waiter was confused we ordered our own drinks at the bar instead. It was not even a busy night. Really sad and disappointing experience. More to write but I’m sure my party will also be complaining.

We met my wife’s sister, husband & 21 year old daughter there for dinner. We started with some drinks, I ordered a maple Old Fashioned (just ok they used a regular marashino cherry, never a good sign) we also ordered the shrimp cocktail and steak & cheeses egg rolls, both were excellent! Our server came back to take our dinner orders. My Niece and Brother in law ordered hot lobster rolls, my sister in law ordered the Portuguese stuffed Cod, my wife ordered French onion soup and I ordered the 2 fillets and lobster tail. Our server did come back to check on us once, and we ordered some more drinks. Our food was delivered In a fair amount of time after our apps and second drink order, and this is were our experience started to sour. My sister in law said that her food was far from hot and just warm as the server warned her her plate may be hot. The lobster rolls were both just mediocre especially for the $45 per roll. I ordered my Fillets medium rare and when delivered they were both cooked medium well and the lobster tail seemed a little undercooked and both came out warm to cool. Our second round of drinks were not brought out until after we had finished our meals. On a good note my wife did enjoy her soup. As a New England native, very disappointed with quality of food for the price. The only reason for the 3 stars is from the appetizers.

Today, I decided to grab some takeout from Tavern on the Wharf. I’ve been here a few times before with no issues.. until today. I ordered the California Chicken Sandwich and I emphasize sandwich because nowhere on the menu does it indicate it’s served open-faced. When I opened my meal (thankfully not far from the restaurant), I found half of the sandwich, the melted cheese and chicken completely stuck to the inside the to-go box lid. When I tried to remove it, the paper lining from the box came off with the cheese. Obviously, I wasn’t about to eat a sandwich with paper melted into it, so I returned to the restaurant. I spoke with the same hostess I had just seen, and she told me a new sandwich would be made. That seemed like a reasonable solution.. or so I thought. When I got back to my car and took a look before leaving, I was extremely disappointed to find that the sandwich had not been remade. Instead, the original sandwich, the same one with the melted cheese and paper had simply been transferred into a new box, with the cheese shifted and re-melted (along with an extra slice), and the top bun placed on as if it were fresh. At that point, I went back in a third and final time, now clearly frustrated. I spoke with a different hostess, explained the entire situation again, and was asked if I wanted another sandwich. At that point, I declined. After being served the same **contaminated food** twice, I no longer had any trust that the kitchen would correct the issue. I requested and received a refund. I’m sharing this so others are aware and make sure to double-check their takeout orders. This happened on a Saturday around 3 PM. Honest mistakes happen, but serving food with packaging stuck in it, then trying to pass off the exact same food as “new,” is unacceptable, unprofessional, and disappointing.

The food overall was quite good, with the raw bar being a standout highlight—both the tuna and oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant’s attention to quality seafood.

However, I was slightly disappointed with the cod risotto. While the presentation was appealing, the dish didn’t quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor balance or texture. It felt like it could have used a bit more seasoning or a touch of creativity to match the excellence of the other menu items

That said, the ambience and service were outstanding. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening by the water. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about the dining experience.

Overall, I’d happily recommend Tavern on the Wharf, especially for seafood lovers. I’d return for the raw bar and the great atmosphere, but might explore other main courses next time

When in Plymouth….eat seafood! And Tavern on the wharf is a great place to go. Casual ice atmosphere with a live band on Fridays ( they were good). The service overall was very good except they forgot our soup and then brought it with our meal . BUT the clam chowder was very tasty. I had stuffed quahog for the first time and it was delicious! I could have made it the meal . My stuffed haddock was awesome. Light and flavorful. Nice touch on the side salad was granting my request for crumbly blue cheese on it. Overall I really enjoyed my meal!
