The ambience at Tava Fry in Ashburn was nice and the place itself looked clean and welcoming. The service was also fine, likely because it wasn’t very crowded at the time.

Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The dosas were quite dry, and the potato filling in the masala dosa didn’t taste fresh—it seemed like it might have been prepared a few days earlier. The chutneys also didn’t taste fresh, which affected the overall experience. The sambar was decent, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the other issues with the meal.

Overall, the atmosphere and service were okay, but the food quality needs improvement, especially the freshness of the dosa fillings and chutneys.

On a Thursday evening, we suddenly started craving some Indian, specifically South Indian, tiffins. We began searching, and we found this post about Tava. Despite being 25 minutes away from Manassas, we thought, let’s go try it. We had low expectations because our last visit to a similar chat place in Chantilly left us disappointed.

When we walked in, the ambience was decent. Though the buffet was tucked away in the corner, which made us think it might not be good, to our surprise, the limited tiffin options were all delicious.

A standout for any Indian tiffin is the chutney, and their peanut chutney was outstanding. Idli, punugulu, poori, pongal—everything tasted great. While the buffet quantities were limited, they were quick to refill items. One highlight: toward the end, I was waiting for poori, and the owner noticed. He asked if I wanted one, and brought a fresh hot poori straight to me.

All in all, Tava pleasantly surprised us, and we left happy and full.

Great service, Amazing food and beautiful ambience at this restaurant. I tried their Gobi Manchurian and Hakka noodles today, and absolutely loved it.
I will be back to try their other dishes, they have specials every day, so food items are on a discounted price. The portions are big, which is great value for the meal.
The servers Vijay and Priya were so nice and friendly, and they helped me decide which dishes to order.
Please don’t pass up on this hidden culinary gem, nestled in the heart of Ashburn ️

If you want sweet indian food this is your place. This place never fails to disappoint you. We ordered aloo tikki and it was nothing close to tikki. It was deep fried veg patty. Paneer makhan waala seemed like was dipped in sugar. Malai kofta was ok

Am i going to visit this place again. Never ever. Avoid yourself pain of visting this place.

A big shoutout to Kunal Sharma for the amazing cake he made for our 3-year-old daughter! He was recommended by a friend, and he truly exceeded our expectations. We shared a picture of a snowman-themed cake, and he recreated it even better than we imagined.

The cake looked absolutely beautiful and tasted just as incredible. All our guests loved it! His pricing is also very competitive compared to places like Tous Les Jours and other fancy bakeries.

Highly recommend Kunal for anyone looking for a custom cake that’s both stunning and delicious. Thank you for making our daughter’s day so special! ✨

Masala omelette at a tava fry spot is a total comfort food win. Cooked fresh on the hot tava, it comes out with crispy edges and a soft, juicy center. The mix of onions, tomatoes, chilies, and spices gives every bite a bold, desi flavor. You can smell the spices as it cooks, which makes it even more tempting. Best enjoyed hot with buttered toast or pav. Simple, spicy, and super satisfying — perfect street-style taste.

Extremely disappointing experience. I ordered Chicken Pulao, but what I received was basically white rice with chicken curry mixed in. That is not pulao.

If the restaurant didn’t have pulao available, the simple and honest thing would have been to say that upfront. I would have gladly chosen something else from the menu. Instead, they served something completely different without mentioning it.

It’s frustrating because this isn’t about a complicated request. It’s basic transparency. If an item isn’t available, just say so. Customers can easily move on and order something else.

Serving a substitute without informing the customer shows poor communication and a lack of respect for the order. I really hope they improve their honesty and menu management.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly dining experience with great value, Tava Fry’s Biryani Buffet is definitely worth considering. The buffet offers a variety of flavorful biryanis that are sure to satisfy everyone in your family. The food is delicious, with the spices perfectly balanced, and the portions are generous. It’s a great choice for those on a budget, as it provides a variety of options without breaking the bank. The ambiance is relaxed, and the staff is welcoming, making it a comfortable place for a family gathering. Whether you’re a biryani lover or just looking for a hearty meal, this buffet delivers both in taste and value. Highly recommended for a satisfying, budget-friendly family outing!

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant with their grilled chicken. We ordered two whole grilled chickens, but what we received were two orders that each contained five unusually large legs—almost the size of duck legs. It was hard to tell if they were even chicken legs! When I called to express my concerns, they apologized, but I believe serving such food raises health concerns. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the grilled chicken here.

Had a great time here with friends. Service was good and staff were friendly.

Highly recommend biryanis for their large portions sizes and the chicken 65.

The rasmalai cake was like no other. I’ll definitely be coming back.
