Reviews
We have been ordering the pan-fried baos at Tasty Noodle House regularly since 2018, and they were always handmade in the past. Today, however, we were shocked when clearly machine-made baos were brought to our table. The difference was obvious: the wrinkles were perfectly and evenly distributed, a telltale sign of machine production, and the baos appeared to be squeezed into shape rather than wrapped by hand using a flat dough skin. As a result, the wrappers were fragile and broke apart easily (as shown in my photo), and the texture and
taste were completely different from handmade baos (as their front wall advertisement picture). This was honestly insulting, especially given the restaurant’s long-standing reputation.
What makes it worse is that the restaurant still displays photos of handmade baos on the glass wall at the entrance, which is misleading compared to what is actually being served.
In addition, the wonton soup was overwhelmed by excessive soy sauce, masking any other flavor. This further reflects a noticeable deterioration in food quality.
I hope this review helps others who are seeking authentic Chinese dishes. For those who still believe this restaurant offers genuine Shanghai cuisine, it unfortunately no longer comes close.
We ordered the house curry noodles with chicken, the house spicy chow mein with beef, and the curry-flavored beef buns, everything was perfect.
This was our second visit, and once again, it did not disappoint. The service was excellent and fast, too.
Definitely recommend!
The prices are affordable and the portions are sizeable. 10/10 place! I reccomend this place to all my family and friends 🙂
Just hope it’s consistent.
The food at this location is much better than the ones in Chino Hills and Irvine—flavorful and well-prepared. My kids loved it, making for a great dining experience before our flight. Highly recommend!
Our table she just started yelling aggressively not making any sense that other customers were first when we had been waiting even showing her the Text that our table had been read 30 minutes prior . We were M and she was yelling for S group . She was not reasonable or polite. She made our night extremely upsetting. My parents visited from Colorado we’ve eating here plenty of times so it’s a place they like to visit . Definitely not after this experience. This lady was Horrible sooooo rude. There’s other options for delicious noodles and dining I wouldn’t bother with this place .
1. *Ginger Scallion Beef: 7.7/10
Slender, juicy beef with great flavor.
2. Sausage Fried Rice: 6/10
If you like pork and sausage, this one’s for you!
3. *Beef Chow Mein: 7/10
Great flavor, but the noodle texture could be better.
4. *Garlic String Beans: 8.5/10
Perfectly seasoned, though we’d prefer the string beans to be crispier.
5. Xiao Long Bao: 7/10
Big and thick, but not as fresh or juicy as we expected.
6. Garlic Broccoli: 7/10
Good overall, but we were hoping for Chinese broccoli.
7. Pork Buns: 9/10
Crispy bottom, perfectly cooked dough, seasoned with green scallions, and stuffed with pork—what’s not to love?
8. *Hunan-Style Lamb: 9.5/10
A must-try for spice lovers—heavenly! Pairs perfectly with the sausage fried rice.
9. Honey Walnut Shrimp: 7.5/10
Candied walnuts cooked to perfection, with jumbo shrimp that are tasty, though the sauce was a bit too sweet.
