Delicious hot/fresh Jamaican food with great prices. Can’t beat the $6 lunch/soda combo. I went for the first time last week and got the jerk chicken and had to go back the next day to try the curry chicken, both were great.

I wish I could rate higher but they got some Improvements to make. The chicken or main course is good how it should be, but the rice and veggies are like white peoples made it. It lacks flavor.

Food was great. The only thing is, I ordered curry goat meal for me and my husband and it was mostly bone. When I called to asked if there was anymore, since I didn’t have much meat on my plate just rice, the lady was dismissive and told me “Sorry, thats how the meal is” clearly she didn’t care about what she was serving or trying to make the plate right.. I won’t be coming back here at all.. paying $13 plus dollars for bones and rice i wouldn’t want that for anyone else. Especially a tourist who has money to spend..

I am only assuming the gentlemen who greeted was the owner. He was well mannered, generous with the portion, and the price was fair. I enjoyed my meal(salt fish, cabbage, dumplings, and yellow yam), and it came with porridge . I’ll be back when I’m in that area!

There’s not any big sign on the business for an easy spot. You just have to be on the lookout for a Jamaican flag in the window and remember that it’s next to a Haitian restaurant. There’s also limited parking.

My first time at this restaurant. I ordered salt mackerel for breakfast and jerk chicken for dinner. Food was really good. Will definitely go back. Oh and the price was unbelievably reasonable.

I just left this place and the chicken was not fully cooked. I took the food back to show the owner that the chicken still had blood inside. He was very nasty with me. He took the food and wouldn’t let me get anything else,he told me to get out I’ve been going there for years!. Wow now I’m feeling sick I hope I don’t get food sick .

I was thoroughly impressed by the island like ambiance. I am very supportive of black businesses and this is one I had to leave a review for. I have never been to Jamaica but when I stepped in this spot I felt like I left the city of Hallandale for a moment. Such a calm place I loved it. I’d like to believe I met the owner, my boyfriend and I asked if the food was spicy (hate when I go to Jamaican restaurants and they don’t make the food spicy!!) and [he] assured that it is. Let me tell you if my nose don’t run I’m not impressed but my nose is running! And I just kept complimenting his place. It’s like a one stop shop you can get snacks, many Jamaican food products, and even different Jamaican teas. I congratulated what I believe to be the owner because opening a restaurant is extremely difficult and to be so authentic I was proud for him. I will be back! And will tell everyone about it!
